The Home Support has been questioned and despite it being good in numbers it's been lacking in positive atmosphere http://www.echonews.co.uk/news/1499...is_home_into_Ben_Mitchell_shrine/?ref=mr&lp=1 We need to take out of this guys book! New Rules for admittance to SJP 1. you must be wearing a NUFC onesie with at lease 4 players faces on 2. Home Made Memorabilia should be made and brought to games, pictures cut in to heart shapes and other nice things 3. fans should hold hands. everyone 4. no more beer, Rose by tap and prosecco will now be served. 5. parts of the stadium will be painted pink, not a horrible off red colour like our neighbours, but a proper pink! Any disagreements?
The link says Ben Mitchell.... but it shows an article about Magpie Venture scouts from some Southern backwater....?? Contrast the atmosphere now with that under Pardew and it is lights years ahead. Most home grounds have less noise than in the good old days mind. This is, in my opinion down to the all seater stadiums. It's no coincidence that our noisiest parts are the Strawberry Corner and the Leazes Corner... both of which have organised and grouped 'singing sections'. At away grounds our away noise is massive... again because people an group together and link their ST's. If we can get safe standing back the noise will return.
Edited, link appears to have been fixed, not sure what happened. Away, the noise is incredible, non-stop, it seems to be harder to replicate at home, but I agree safe standing would be brilliant, not sure they would ever allow it but being able to drink whilst watching too
Get rid of the constant minutes applause. It seems every week that there is another one. We'll be applauding the death of Homer Simpson before long at this rate. The 17th minute applause is bordering on pathetic now. Instead of people clapping, get off their arses and sing for 90 minutes.
The applause IMHO is now embarrassing. People know the families of the dead want it stopped... yet still do it. Respect is paid... and we have the memorial garden at the back of the Milburn so people can surely go there if they want to carry things on.
Support up here is immense - I can;t think of 2 other football clubs in your lot and us who could bring in over 40000 fans every home game watching the drivel we've both been served up for 98% of the last 40+ years! Can you imagine if we were both pushing for honours every season?
If we were both pushing for honours we'd both get crowds of 60,000 upwards. The atmosphere at derby matches is second to none in this country. There isn't a derby that can touch it. Rangers v Celtic is the only game in the British isles that trumps it.
Indeed. And likewise if today's 'top 6' had the 40 years we've experienced, how many fans would they still be getting in comparison?
