Heard a rumour today that we are in for 1 or 2 Man Utd players, even though José has said only one player will be allowed to leave this January & that's Sam Johnstone the goalie. Think MP might have a connection with it, maybe that defender that keeps getting mentioned? All might happen after the first leg next week.
Tuanzabe could be a possibility but hes more of a centreback i think hes out of contract in the summer but is quite highly rated there I think it all depends on what were going to pay regarding loan fees If its on the cheap itl be the likes of tuanzabe and maybe ash fletcher from west ham If were given a fair whack Could be players like ash young, fosu mensah Buuuuut till ehab stops playing secret genie and actually appears then who knows
Taken from uniteds resrve/youth forum Basically there under 23 team "It looks very likely that the U23s will struggle a tad for the rest of the season and it will massively impact the development of the best youngsters on the side (Tuanzebe,Goss,Riley,...). Furthermore there's oversupply of talent in the U18s side (we had to bench Chong and Hamilton last game and Barlow didn't even make the squad). It might be a good idea to try to "rebalance" the U23s side on January by sending some players on loan (or even get rid of couple of them permanently) and promote some of the U18s especially attacking players. For example: Loan: Willock, Harrop, Riley, Redmond Promote: Hamilton, Gribbin, Buffonge, Warren XI: Whoever Warren/El-Fitouri - Tuanzebe - Williams - Osolunde McTominay/Kehinde - Goss Buffonge - Gribbin - Hamilton Mitchell Still not ideal but we can at least play good football with that line-up IMO."
Any signing from United would be cup tied anyway so would play no part in the cup game against them. Looking at their squad, it's going to be Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young, Fosu Mensah, Tuanzebe or Johnstone, as they're the ones who are on the fringes and have made barely, if any, appearances. Considering the first two are CM and the last is a goalkeeper, it's probably Ashley Young. He's on a £110,000 a week, so it's very unlikely indeed.
Yeah i thought about ash young whis been a good servant to u ited so to put him in the shop window they could subsidise his wages quite alot as a goodwill gesture, could happen with the phelan connection but who knows
Man U have been pretty good to us in the past, but they're not that nice that they'd pay £70k- £80k a week to a player not playing for them.
As it stands there paying £110k a week They cut 30/40k off the wage bill till the summer and put a player whos a good pro in the shop window Stranger things have happened at sea
I was about to congratulate you on a ManU post without mentioning Fosu Mensah (then I saw it. Think it's because it was split onto 2 lines).
Hahaha apologies The signing just makes so much sense especially with phelan knowing all about the lad I scratch my head thinking why hasnt it been done, why weir, why keane
