To be fair wasn't much could do.

Defence, only option was to bring Moreno in.

Midfield hendo grujic both injured. Could have brought Lucas in (which I'm sure you'd have been pleased about ;) )

up top cout injured and Mane off to ACON after today so had no need to save him. Origi was rested and Studge played first game in while.

Just shows that 2/3/4 players missing and our squad is very thin, especially when all 3 Hendo, Matip, Cout, are all first teamers.

After today's effort against Sunderland so he should. Bloody awful performance and they don't deserve another go.:p

We will probably field our second 11 as well. I mean the league is as important way down the pecking order. We play as many matches in a season what with all the trophies and such. Our first 11 need a rest as well.

They have all week to rest. I'm not saying they should all play again, just that there has been many teams dumped out by lower opposition after fielding a weak team.

    Mingo
    TAA Lovren Klavan Milner
    Can
    Lallana Wjinaldum
    Origi Firmino Ejaria/Woodburn

    who would come in?

    like....

taa? away v janusaj diving left and right?

moreno? did come in at HT. we will mill boring james milner

    no cbs to come in

no CMs to come in bar lucas. though can was that bad...

origi on bench suggests a knock?

    sturridge did come in.

I think we over estimate what he could do with the team ejaria and taa on bench. moreno and lucas came on.

If he'd started those two maybe theres a point but its easy to snipe when milner went off at ht.

Obviously, I'd like to win everything, but odds of us winning FA cup is low at this stage. If we get knocked out that potentially means 2 or 3 less meaningless filler games to tire the team or injure players between now and end of season.

A couple games in I'll take it more seriously, but if you're getting eliminated, now is the ideal time.

I think our kids are good enough to beat Plymouth most nights anyway so won't predict a loss. We're in an advanced stage of the league cup, and have a fair chance of qualifying for Champions League.

I'd like to win everything, but it wouldn't ruin my day if we lost.

We've as much of a chance as anyone. While we get home draws we can progress handily. I'd take a dodgy 1-0 and a home tie to a champ side in round 4.

I would say that 4th round is last 32 in effect that we've a fair chance of winning this cup as anyone at this point. (if we get there)

Don't think he'll go all reserve in this fixture.
Think it'll be a quite a strong'ish line up with a few youngsters.

    ------------------------- Karius
    -- Trent Darby - Gomez - Klavan - Moreno
    ----------------- Gini - Stewart - Ejaria
    -------------- Coutinho - Origi - Lallana

Coutinho, if fit, give him a start and some minutes in his legs.
Gini and Lallana will be OK to go again in 5/6 days rest.
Bench to be stocked with a few 1st team'ers, maybe bring on Matip for a few minutes too if he's fit enough to make the squad.

I think it will be interesting to se.

lucas will play you missed him out.

Not sure of karius. it should happen probably.
    darby yes thats a lock
    Moreno hs to play
    Lucas will be CB.
    Gomez... i dunno....
Midfield... stewart makes sense. not sure on grujic yet we will see.
I seriously doubt coutinho will play this one from start.

I would be looked for ojo and the like in this one.

I noted that at the latest u23 game on the 30th ojo and juanma went of injured so watch that one.

    the team that played was

Shamal George, Juanma (Kane Lewis, 55), Corey Whelan, Tiago Ilori (Nathan Phillips, 63), Joe Gomes, Jordan Williams, Pedro Chirivella (Pedro Alves, 63) Matty Virtue, Harry Wilson, Sheyi Ojo, Toni Gomes

IMO wilson, ojo, gomez, chirivella and gomes all have a shout here.

not all a good one but it will be interesting to see what klopp does.

Ejaria, woodburn and TAA are all strong shoults and after that we will see.

I want to see the lad Grujic play, he's been impressive whenever I've seen him get some minutes.
Think he's had a tendon injury but hopefully should be fit soon enough!
Gomez will play in place Lucas based on the fact that I think Lucas maybe close to going to Inter by then, we may not want to risk him and Gomez has been back a few months now, about time he got some first team action.
If Coutinho is fit then I would start him, get 45mins in his legs and get him up and running before the big game against Untied the following week..
I can't see us going too weak in this game.
Origi didn't play against Sunderland so he's good to go, Lallana and Gini will be needed for some experience and they have decent engines, didn't pick up a knock against Sunderland and also should be good to go!
Depending on the state of the game, Woodburn could come on later on.

I was nonplussed at your use of the word nonplussed until I looked it up. Your usage is perfectly correct in current Yankish but in real English the word means thoroughly confused - that being the only meaning I was aware of.
    Interesting divergence there.
    Anyway, talk proper will yer?

not sure about him. all i can say is he didn't play i nthe u23s but he's not listed anywhere as "injured" so... maybe he's in training.

Gomez played a full 90 on the 30th so he might get a game for sure.... but then we will see i guess.

I just have a feeling lucas has been given a if you want to go and its a good offer then go but not for a we will see and then leave you swinging thing. I think klopp will start him

I agree on 45mins for couts if he's ready but why not second 45?

    I agree origi should start.

I doubt either of lallana or wijnaldum will play though.. both played last two games so...

    how about

    karius
    TAA Gomez Lucas Moreno
    Grujic Stewart new signing ;)
    Ojo Origi Ejaria
