Sunday’s home humbling by Spurs was a fifth defeat in seven for Walter Mazzarri’s inconsistent side. I haven't seen anything of yesterdays horror show, and everything I read suggests I would be well advised not to look.
Cheers for the thread! Got to put the wrongs to right. Passion, commitment & pride for the shirt please.
Walter Mazzarri has taken one of his crocked players to Stoke City and is seriously contemplating asking him to play through the pain barrier in a sure sign the Watford head coach is feeling the pressure. We have agreed to not to name the player for fear of giving Stoke the heads up and because Mazzarri needs all the help he can get right now, but we can reveal one of the half-a-dozen injured senior players who didn’t make it against Tottenham Hotspur travelled with the squad to the Potteries yesterday, despite not training for at least a week. Mazzarri, we are told, wants the player to start in a bid to halt the slump and prevent a seventh defeat in ten matches. WDSport
Some highlights from tonight's game already released - a number of new signings on display it seems...
That would be my guess as well. It seems as if Cathcart is still playing with the injury that kept him out so long. Might as well give some of the young subs some time.
Considering we have Deeney, Ighalo and Sinclair, I'm not sure they'd risk Okaka or Success unless we really had to. I would suggest the injured player is a defender... We seem short at RB/RWB, so would guess it is one of Zuniga, Janmaat or Amrabat, if any are close to a return! Would be happy if they tried a couple of the youngsters... Can see it being a tough night!
Spoke too soon ; Gomes (GK); Kaboul, Prödl, Kabasele, Britos; Doucouré, Guedioura, Behrami, Capoue, Holebas; Deeney (c). subs: Pantilimon (GK), Cathcart, Sinclair, Ighalo, Mason, Folivi, Eleftheriou. Another experienced bench.
Absolutely brilliant! And absolutely correct by the referee too! Oh man, my sides ache criminally and the tears are flowing! Utterly priceless!!
