You explain it then Bobby ****wit, why is that with Jakopovic in goal our average number of goals conceded is minimal compared to when Marshall's been in goal?
Giving them credit for loaning us money at a steep 5%?......nah, not having that. They had no meaningful imput into the day to day decisions that got us up twice and to Wembley etc They had no football expertise, no idea how to network/build bridges, or how to grow a football club. There are non league clubs who could run rings round them at those things. They have poisoned this football club and their malevolent touch has alienated people who are not even interested in football.
Not sure it's helpful for the manager to say this in public. He should be defending them and bollocking them in private. Anyway who does he mean? "You can’t just be a pretty boy, you have to get your body or something on it. When it is a one-on-one situation you have to carry out that duty. For 45 minutes that was probably as good as we have played. We got the goal and we were in control, but the game doesn’t last 45 minutes and we suffered again. You can’t win games by playing nice neat football, you have to do the dirty bits at the other end. There’s only so much we can prepare and the staff do it really well and the players are aware of that. After the game it’s annoying they didn’t carry those bits of detail out.”
Listening to Phelans post match interview I agreed with everything he said. However he is as much to blame. West Brom at home we conceded a set piece where Davies didn't pick up MaCauley. Davies hasn't been the best at picking up his man lately so who do we put on their most potent player at set pieces next time, Davies again. Result another goal from a set piece. I wasn't at the game but it would be interesting to know who picked up Dawson at or corners?
Maguire was more bothered with wrestling his man than watching the ball and challenging for it - Mbokani is hopeless - he caused the first goal against Everton getting in the way - he's just another in the long list of useless strikers we've had over the last few seasons - Prozzy, Sagbo, Graham, Diomanade, Mbokani, Hernandez isn't good enough for the Prem - only Long and Jelavic came anywhere close and Long only lasted a few months before Brucie got rid / he wanted out - we are living Brucies legacy of poor signings at the moment - total lack of cover at the back - he got rid of Chester, Brady, Rosie, Macca - all of which are in the Championship and all would do a good job for us today - all Brucie did was keep his lad instead
Doesn't it get boring churning out the same old ****? How would mcshane do a good job for us? Do the bogs need cleaning? He couldn't displace any of our defenders. We had to sell Brady and Chester, nothing to do with Bruce. Rosenoir has been injured a lot of last season and for the last 4 months of this. Did well to get rid. Again he couldn't displace anyone in our defence. This is all phelans making, your obsession is pathetic.
Apparently our players are 'pretty boys'.... I hate to tell you this MP.. but theres nothing pretty about it... the table tells you that.. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hull-manager-mike-phelan-slams-9553972
I don't ever remember a rousing rendition of 'Don't sell Junior' ringing round the KC - and Macca isn't doing a bad job with Reading - did you see his through ball for their goal yesterday - can't see one like that from Maguire - you need to look at yourself matey - all this Phelan's ****, Huddlestone's ****, Meyler's great bollox is tedious - this mess is down to three people - two **** owners and one **** manager who is now ****ing up Villa - Brucies wish list for this season were Keane, Powell, Marshall, Mason. Robson Kanu - that's why were ****ed and he left because Ehab wouldn't sanction Powell - I don't always agree with Phelan's team selections or tactics but they're better than the **** we were served up last two seasons
Seems phelans realised too judging by his comments to the media Talked about defending set pieces about working on them in training and then players just not doing it in games Asked if etoo can defend set pieces as well as score Very annoyed with mbokani id say Hes ****ing dire how anyone can think hes good enough or even cling onto a positive with the guy is beyond me Were down here because some players just arnt cutting it, footballs a ruthless dont stay up by molly coddling ****e players, replace him sharpish
And yet another load of ****. No one would drop any of our CBs for mcshane. No one. Phelan is **** and he's proving it. You know the hudd and Meyler thing is made up stop talking like a **** as usual. No more mention of rosenoir or Chester and Brady, good. Something is finally sinking into that disturbed delusional Bruce obsessed brain of yours.
We'l agree to disagree If you want to kid yourself hes worthy of a place in our team i guess his scoring record at the end of the season and assist stats will prove me wrong
Apart from the w ham one what chances has Mbokani missed? His job is to hold the ball up and win headers, which he does. He's getting no players around him or running ahead of him.
I am sick to death of this Phelan bashing. I am pretty Certain it's not Phelan's fault people leaving their men free in the box, apart from get on the pitch himself what else can he do? For some reason we are terrible at defending crosses into the box despite having three CB's, who are built to defend crosses. All of this dropping Marshall stuff is fair enough, but why does our defence keep getting away with it? We can't blame everything on Marshall, at some point the defence needs to take some responsibility. We keep making terrible mistakes, simple mistakes that no other team makes as much as us. Is that Phelan's fault? Not in my eyes it's not. Our team isn't good enough, we need to realise this. People keep saying we have good players but these players keep making terrible mistakes, that's not the formations fault, or the tactics fault or our transfer policies fault. Secondly, we need a striker that can score. Not one who "holds the ball up", one who can score. At what point does hold up play become pointless because the striker isn't scoring goals? You can't have a striker on the pitch who doesn't score goals, we can't afford that as our midfielders don't score enough (Bar Snodgrass). Allams please buy us a striker.
Mbokani is away now for a few weeks, he scored for relegated Norwich last season, but we are using him as a target man, its the second striker who is missing the chances. Shame Edwards has gone out on loan, we should have used him and Bowen in the cup games to give them an opportunity. Mbokani is not a defender, to get the most from him leave up front at corners against us, that way two of their players have to mark him.
Just watched the highlights again on player, what the **** is Clucas doing standing behind the line, for their second, 6 inches onto the pitch, they don't score. I should imagine Phelan was n't too impressed with his defending, we obviously lack leadership in the defensive 3rd, and a Defoe type in the top 3rd. For the Bruce basher, he did try to sign Defoe when we were in the Premiership last time.
