Saints are pioneering the winter break in the PL by refusing to take any points from matches either side of Christmas for the last few years. It will hopefully be adopted by other teams soon.

As a player coming in ,would you want to play for puel going off what you see from interviews etc...? I ****ing wouldn't , no passion , no emotion , he just bores the tits of people. Imagine waking up knowing you had to train with that every morning ! Shudder ...

Why do people say this? He is speaking a second language in a new country. Pochettino didn't come across as particularly inspiring even in his own language. You have no idea what he is like behind the scenes!

 

That's fair even though I am further up the happy-clappy scale than you. Ultimately the players and Puel will learn a lot from all of this. After February and next year when we have an incredible 6 days between each match then we will have so much more capacity to improve, but while we are going rest day-travel day-match day I forecast a difficult few weeks. Austin should also be back at the end of that too.

Against Spurs, he made three changes that was designed to go for it. We went for it. We lost with a bang and played with a lot of passion and desire after the sending off up to the 86th minute when they killed us off with a goal. Bloke can't do anything right can he?

 

Getting a bit tired of listening to Puel sprout out the same old ****e in every post match interview. 1.Tiredness (well before every game you say the changes are to freshen up the team? Obviously not working, and when it doesn't he says it's due to tiredness?) 2. Bit unlucky (really? Conceded 4 at home to Spurs after a 10 day rest, 1 shot on target against the mighty Baggies, and totally capitulated after conceding the first goal to Everton 3 goals in 16 mins. 3. Good Spirit ( view previous sentence) (Fonte situation, whether that's down to Fonte, Puel or the club, it still doesn't help the SPIRIT). I don't know if it's just me, but I would like to hear something different from Mr Puel, a little bit of passion for our great club, anything but the same old monotone bollocks.

 

In order to get a win soon, I hope the strongest team is put out against Norwich and at least try to win away as it would boost confidence and prove the team are a class above Norwich.

 

He seems a great prospect. Got Oxford United into League 2 challenge; got Northampton promoted and now got Sheffield United to top of the league. Both Sheff United and Cobblers have had ridiculously long unbeaten runs under Wilder.

However, I'm quite sure that if Saints had gone or do go for someone like this who has only ever managed in lower leagues, there would be a revolt. Several years ago (when we were in league One) I championed Eddie Howe and was dismissed as ludicrous.
