Why would someone shoot you Brendy for a sensible, calm post? What you have posted here is quite possibly what will happen. Time will tell.

Agreed on all fronts. I think now we have a more manageable fixture list we'll see what the man is all about. My main concern is turning around the confidence issues, particularly when we concede, but that's as much to do with the mental strength of the individuals as it is the management. We don't have a Klopp in charge, but then that's why a Klopp is so rare and expensive.

You don't even need to just look since then. We've played 20 PL games, and only three times have we scored more than once (West Ham, Burnley, Bmouth). Good luck getting anywhere if your strategy is win 1-0.

(Today being the perfect illustration. It doesn't matter how well you play, when the game is 0-0 it's up for grabs for both sides)

Take it easy back??? :) There are lots of good posts about what are current issues... so some good debates can take place.

    And Happy New Year.

Look at the bright side - I don't suppose any teams will be trying to tempt our manager away at the end of the season :)

I suggest that you look at my posts over the last five years and look to see when l have ever l have ever run down the board, the club or the players; neither have l lowered myself to abuse people on this site: frankly your response is demeaning you, take a step back like l suggested members did on New Years Day.

Agree that was the game we should of prioritised....always seem to be thinking about the game ahead rather than the one we're playing.
Fixture xmas dates weren't kind for us but we had 2 at home and a 10 day break leading into them.

And another bright side. Aside from Virgil, I don't think they'll be tempted to take our players either!

The majority of posters during the game were posting positive about the performance apart from lack of goals. It would seem that the last 15 minutes have wiped the previous 75 out.

Apparently it's no where near being a sell out. If the board are blind to the football we are playing, they may not be blind to a semi final not selling out?

Silver lining - we were this time last year and finished well.

Yeah, it was mostly to highlight that our defense, which was the thing allowing us to win 1-0, hasn't been particularly good for some time now. 6 of our 12 opponents in those games scored 2+ goals; we had only one game in that span where we scored two or more. That's not a recipe for success.

I give up. I was making a general point, using your "happy clapper" jibe as a starting point. Frankly you need to step back yourself if you can't take my post in the manner it was intended.

Things are obviously not right behind the scenes and the player's body language in the second half said it all for me. Wtf was Freddy Krueger doing before the game talking to the team - reminded me of the Lowe era and all very strange and cringeworthy. We know what happened after Lowe started picking the team!

I want to say the age old "anything can happen in the cup" but I just know it won't.
I just hate the fact I'll look forward to the next game in the hope that we win. Weening myself off just won't happen.

Fatigue my ass. These are supposed to be super fit athletes and if they can't play to a high standard at least twice a week they should be given their P45's.
Also CP and Black. Pelligrini should have been given the job along with Sammy Lee. Board just doing everything on the cheap.

We need 18 points from 18 games to be safe.

That is six wins and on our current form we will not do it.

When did we become a team once more in fear of relegation?

Supporting Saints over the last few years has left me feeling like I have been dating a prick teaser.

Well we didn't miss any open goals or anything but I can think of four reasonable chances. Rodriguez created that chance for himself, Redmond had a free header about 10 yards out, Redmond had that good chance you mentioned (I didn't think the angle was that tight) and Boufal put Rodriguez through at the end.
