Another decent chance. Worrying though that we've played well and got thumped 3-0.

And if this form continues? Our defending is shocking. We can't score. We can't control the midfield. I've had enough. I'll give him until end of January and if we haven't signed a new striker then I may give saints a miss for a while.

Ok.... we are not in the bottom three. We aren't doing great ta the moment, but things certainly aren't the complete **** pot some people seem to think. Some grip does need getting. No one is saying they are happy, so please stop the ****ing pathetic happy clapper digs.

I have got behind my team at st Mary's for 2 of our last 3 performances. I will never boo a saints player or manager.

But things are ****ing awful, it's not just the fact that we have 0/9 points but our approach, style of play and demeanour is poor. I don't think it's the results that make everyone so unhappy, it's the way we go about things.

I am not anti puel or anti board etc but when our football is this poor I think people have a right to express concern and question our current approach.

Agreed but Puel has stated several times that he rotates to keep the players fresh. He really needs to pick a consistent team now this period is over, or it could be to late for him?? He's rotated last 6 days but lost all 3 conceding 9 goals and not looked like winning any of the 3.

I don't want Puel out but at the moment we look rudderless. We're neither hard to beat or hard to defend against. Score a goal against us and 9 times out of ten we capitulate. The team don't look like they believe, and they don't look like a team which knows it's philosophy. I don't expect this team to become much better quickly but Puel needs to regain some control.

I actually thought the scoreline flattered Everton ... they were no better than us. I thought we played well for most of the match, just don't create/convert enough still.

Really not as bad as people are making out.

Our season isn't going anywhere anyway, and I don't think that we're likely to blow the doors off with signings. Now, we'll lose some money by finishing lower, but we're probably not going to be in the relegation race. Limp it home and rebuild the whole damned thing in the summer, including our off-the-field decision-making.

100%. Certain members of this board can shoot me, but I'm now convinced that the outcome of this January window will almost certainly determine whether Puel will be our manager next season. Rightly or wrongly.

We're not going down, and the board don't have a history of knee-jerk decision making. So I think Puel stays for the rest of the season (again, rightly or wrongly). But if things haven't turned around by then, I can only see a parting of the ways. And without a decent transfer window, how exactly are things doing to turn around (to any great degree)?

Reminds me a bit like last year when we went on a poor run when Koeman was in charge and they wanted him sacked. Other teams in the Europa have struggled in the league that season too. So no reason to panic, just disappointing.

We really didn't create much. We didn't have one clear cut chance. Jay had a good effort go just over that he created for himself from nothing. Then Jay put redmond through for a best chance of the game from a wide angle. Apart from that we had nothing of note. Jay was the only player that looked dangerous, yet apparently a striker will solve everything. Also, not sure how anyone could claim we did well today.

I can't remember us ever switching off after going behind under Poch, Koeman or even Adkins. We go a goal or two down and the heads just drop and we get sloppy. A couple of signings isn't going to inject fighting spirit into the team. That's surely something that has to be injected by the manager, coaching staff, captain grabbing players by the scruff of the neck down on the pitch etc. If the board are going to do anything now is the time. Back him heavily in the transfer window and bring in who he needs, or replace him.

Trying to look for some positives (its hard I know)...the performances of Stephens and McQueen were solid and JRod is looking much better with every game.
The rest of it...OMG against a poor team like Everton? The substitution of Valencia seemed to completely change things and we couldn't deal defensively with the additional striker.
Over to you "Boot Boys" and "Happy Clappers" too tear spreads off each other

Mrs Puel's lonely exile in Southampton may soon be over me thinks. Losing becomes a habit and we have acquired that habit.

Next up, Burnley away! We need 3 points, otherwise, we could start slipping alarmly down the league. We are not safe yet!

Needs a real overhaul because the board have got it seriously wrong, and in fairness they have got it right many times before so have earned some leeway for when things are going pear-shaped. i want nothing more than a good attempt at getting three points each weekend. Yeah every team has bad games but this season is about as flat as a pancake that has been run over by a road flattener.

Yeah that's what I mean by a bit worrying. Playing well against a team as good as us, and get smashed 3-0.
