^^ This. I think people are just so fed up they have started to believe the improbable. This whole thing about Ehab "owning a PL club" to show off is bullshit, he isn't going to have one in six months anyway, not if the transfer window expenditure is as expected and there's a high chance that all his mates know about football, so it's likely that they aren't going to be too impressed with how he's done. If I was his mate I'd be ripping the piss out of him.

Took my regular drive past the Allam's earlier

Slowed down, a bit, and tossed Askew some Christmas cake

What did amuse me was that all the staff from the nursing home next door to him, that smoke, were stood leaning on his gate posts having a cig. 3 or 4 of them out there in a smokers huddle. i was imagining them all finishing and flicking their tab ends over his wall!

So dumb **** did we pay massively over the odds for players on big contracts to get us out of the division? We must have done mustn't we? So Adam Pearson must be a useless **** at negotiating then?
We were getting 3 or 4 times the crowds of the res of the division, did Pearson pay the going rate. If so were did the surplus money go? On the training ground? Get us up to cat 2?

We've only just got to the same level as Colchester.

The Allams will receive more money this season alone, than Pearson received in total in the entire time he ran the club, yet he ran us at a profit while the Allams managed to run up a £100m debt.

So why didn't he build a training ground? Colchester did and plenty of other smaller clubs none of whom got anything like our crowds.

We've always had a training ground, the category system used to grade them is a new thing, a better question would be why, after six years mainly in the Premier League club, we're still not Cat A.

A big part of that would possibly be our wage bill
Once weve bought a few players and paid our wage bill to compete, how much is left?

As ever, incredible logic used to get you to the conclusion you want to reach.

We spent a lot on players for a Division 3 team. It was very stupid to say there was nothing to show for the money we had at that level. Obviously that doesn't mean we were ripped off for any of them, they were clearly good players and worth what we paid overall. It's bizarre that were even discussing it, but obviously the only reason for that is you have to try hard to dislike Pearson because everyone else liked him for being the opposite of what the Allams are. I really don't get this weird contrarianism.

So we over spent!!! ****ing useless **** Pearson what a **** etc etc etc.
If we hadn't overspent we could have had a cat 2 academy a lot sooner. Local players coming through earlier, summat you've whined about for years.
    What acunt eh.

I always remember a quote from Pete Taylo
I always recall an odd quote from Peter Taylor, basically saying if we want to finish top of this division, then we need the best player in the division in each position. Clearly not true, but Pearson fell for it. Was it an experienced operator 'playing' a naive and inexperienced owner? It did get us back to back promotions withoput much further tinkering the following year... apart from White ****e been kind enough to pay Barmby's wages for us.

Pearson didn't want to run the club into debt like Duffen and Bartlett did. He could of quite easily run the club at a debt and tried for promotion. However his selection of managers bar Taylor was not the best. When
He realised he couldn't go any further he sold the club for a tidy profit.

Why has this turned into a discussion on the merits of Pearsons reign??

He's really not the problem at the moment....

While colluding in a dodgy deal to allow Bartlett to buy the club with no money.

Evidence? I don't dispute he had no money, however the housing crisis didn't help.
