Mike, if your friends are already established out there then they will see more £ for their Euro, making it cheaper for them to visit the U.K. Or even perhaps invest in property over here. Maybe they are just pleased because the EU has been given a bloody nose. Me on the other hand - I have seen my endowment policies take a hit when the shares dropped - they have recovered a bit but it's far from certain that they will have enough value to pay my mortgage off later this year. Added to that the exchange rate changes have added £10k to the price of properties in Spain and also the political uncertainty around the rights of British citizens to settle there has become unclear. It may be alright in the end but for now it's a worry - and we haven't even brexited yet!!
'it's already ruining my retirement plans to live in Spain.........' It's going to be some bedroom window. Ps - 'the shares dropped - they have recovered' - to record levels. You are such a worrier R&B (lol), WW3 didn't start on 24/6 as predicted by Osborne and Cameron. As long as you have health and strength nothing else matters. Happy New Year.
don't think he got sacked it was a mutual third party thing????? last BIG NAME are you having a laugh ... ?
a 120,000 euro house has gone from £94,000 to £101,000... but you aint buying yet and it could go the other way ! endowments .. my projection for my house was that the policy would pay off the £40,000 and give me in excess of £40000 to spend .. I had to to pay off £4000 over 5 years to extra to complete ....
You concentrate on your stats, I will go on facts. On 30 June 2015, however, Pearson was sacked with the club stating that "the working relationship between Nigel and the Board is no longer viable." The sacking was linked to his son James' role in a racist sex tape made by three Leicester City reserve players in Thailand during a post-season tour.[73][74][75] He was replaced at Leicester City by Claudio Ranieri, who took Leicester to the Premier League title the following year as 5000-1 outsiders. Sports journalists gave Pearson credit for building the team that won the title, as did player Riyad Mahrez.[76][77]
AH now your facts are what I stated .. it was not to do with his inability to win games or team selection ... ..Sports journalists gave Pearson credit for building the team that won the title, as did player Riyad Mahrez
****sake John it was just saying he WAS sacked. You're just trying to twist things and come across as a font of all knowledge.
Regarding Steve Coppell, I would regard him as a quality manager in his day, although he had a quirky side, but even so he was smart enough to see the dark controlling side of SL. He ran for the hills and I don't think even with a loss tomorrow that SL will contemplate anyone else for the yes job. We could be in for a dark bleak January on all fronts unless some sort of miracle happens and we don't blow our transfer kitty on wastes of space to fill the bench and the tweet columns.
I don't know where this 'SL is controlling' thing comes from though. There's literally no examples except for the David James thing, which Coppell himself rubbished, seeing as it was him who called David James to make the approach. Aside from that, it's 100% speculation, unless I'm missing something.
We're probably all missing something Rob and we will never know the real truth behind some of the mysterious happenings with Bristol City. Are we any different than a lot of clubs, well that is always up for discussion I suppose and we just have to sit back and see what happens over the next month. It just appears that we are forever having these same discussions at this time of the year and only when the club can prove that they really do know what they're doing will the criticisms stop.
Hey you guys below If we lose against Reading-Fleetwood-Cardiff where do you stand at this point, just interested and fishing Members who voted for 'Keep and Believe in Him.' Didn't you spot my fence RR but I do think he should go, especially if we fall at the next hurdle. Some of the happenings left me exhausted and I must confess the thought of yet another incapable manager arriving on the scene to become disillusioned makes me quake in my boots for the rest of the season. If this current situation doesn't better itself by the end of January, and I include the manager and results and everything else you can think of in that collection, I fear for the longer term viability of Bristol City in the Championship. The thought of the nicely upgraded Ashton Gate being used to host League One clubs makes a mockery of the desires spouted from the corporate mouths and whatever happens I have an issue that the supporters have to constantly endure this garbage.
We have Rotherham at home on 4th Feb- If things haven't turned around by then and we lose that one, I would think there would be then no option
I know mate - that's why I said 'worried' as opposed to 'believe'. It might work out ok but I am worried - just like when City are winning by 1 goal at 90 minutes and the opposition has a set piece in our half with everyone pushed forward - my mate will turn to me and tell me not to worry - the 3 points are safely in the bag.......
Haven't been able to make many games this year but the impression I've got from highlights and those who have been regularly is that we're not incapable of winning but that things haven't always gone our way. I think with a few strings tightened and a few signings we could climb up the table again
Maybe the wrong way of thinking but it's mine.......we either sack him now and give the new manager the Jan Transfer window or we keep and let him get on with the job, as said before, either way gives no guarantees. and as there's no decent available managers that's likely to throw themselves at us, I would have to keep all limbs crossed and hope the boy turns it around!!
Maclaren " admits to being surprised that the player was allowed to leave under pervious boss Nigel Pearson" ooooooops BBC typo or is it what WAS SAID? ......
