No because Pochettino was totally in pole position for Wanyama, he'd never choose us over Spurs for many reasons before geography or ownership etc comes into play. Bigger club, top 4 challengers, worked with the manager previously. But in general I don't think players will be put off by our location. They may not fancy us as an option due to likelihood of relegation or our owners, I don't think geography is such an issue.
I think there's a high probability Sunderland will lose Defoe this January. Allardyce will I bet try everything to take him to West Ham. London Lad, back home to a London club managed by someone he's previously worked with.
They need a striker. I can see him definitely trying. They are also sending back that kid they have on loan.
Geography isn't important for some players (hence our ex Spurs contingent), but it is for many who wouldn't consider going beyond Watford. That's a fact of life and as you say it's not just our problem, but when you add that to all the other issues we have this season it's not surprising when we pay way over the odds for players.
Look at it two ways they sign another goal scoring threat and deny another relegation rival signing him.
http://news.ladbrokes.com/football/...ke-potentially-the-signing-of-the-window.html This is impossible surely??
You never know I suppose. I wouldn't say no to him. Be like when Okocha signed, best days behind him but still much better than anything else we have.
