Match Day Thread 2016/17 Premier League, Cups & Euro Watch

Nothing we can do but run our own game..It's unusual for a team to win every game from January to May. We know we can directly effect 3 of Chelsea points but other than that just hope we draw less...I think it's draws that will decide it.

Honestly, while I expect us to be going for the league mentally if we saw a repeat of the first half of the season with both teams then I'd be satisfied with coming second a couple of points off this Chelsea team.

People (not so much Liverpool fans) saying this is yet again our only chance for a few years because Mourinho, Pep etc will buy big and be in their second year next season..so what? There will still be over a half dozen top managers halfway through building their own teams, all can spend to get who they want ...our manager doesn't go for 50 million pound players anyway..

The money in the league means mud table teams will still be competitive in any given match.

Think our chances will be just as good to compete for the title next year and after as it is this year..

 

At one point we were 11 points behind City. They must have played a game more at that point

Feels like Chelsea have had some nice fixtures recently - do they have a tough second half of the season?

 

Well we face Spurs away, Liverpool away and Arsenal at home amongst our next 5 games

 

Spurs and Arsenal are ****e though...

 

They play all the same teams as us (bar each other obviously)

Haha I clocked on after I wrote it. But they do have some tough away fixtures coming up.

Yeah think they played few of theirs at home first half where as we went to Chelsea Arsenal Spurs, burnley and Everton so have them all at home. Only games away are City and united really.

 

Awful keeping from Watford Keeper...

 

Not one mention of that from Alan Smith of course...if it had been our keeper I can just imagine his comments...

 

Kane could end up top scorer in the Prem this year as he scores a lot of penalties as well as his tap in's.

 

Did you guys play like the first 5 games of the season ALL away? because of the stadium refurb?
So surely you are going to be playing more home games in the second half of the season than everyone else right?

 

Think so..think it was agreements with each club rather than just giving up a home game..

 

I think off top of my head it was only burnley game that applied to. Pretty sure others were away games anyway.

 

Meant to ask...is Costa over the supposedly ever present calf injury he had? Certainly looks like it lol..just thought I heard it had never properly been addressed...

 

First 3 league games. Had a cup game away In there as well. The one we moved was burnley which we ended up losing
