Which means they're obviously making money out of it and don't need to sell. The finances must be arranged in such a way their investment is safe.
    Can be no other reason.

I get that theres interest paid on the "allam gift"
But if the gift keeps growing and looks likely to never be got back (asking price)
Does the "gift" far exceed the interest payments?

I made this point over and over again at the time. The chances of us being sold after promotion diminished massively, simply because it was less attractive to sell.

I think Jnr won't realise what relegation means and will set the exact same asking price he did last summer.

    Honestly.

It's hard to see a positive end to this, and for me it's been that way for years. From early on in the name change saga it was clear that the club was heading this way under the Allams, but when he first mentioned about selling up no one really believed him. It was obviously a stupid threat he didn't really mean.

No, I think they will sell all the players they can get money for, and then take their money back from the parachute payments plus sales revenue of players. We will then probably see U23's being the nucleus of the team going forward. I hope I am wrong, but I fear if they don't sell the club that is their fall back position.

Wouldnt the parachute payments go towards paying players wages and costs?
A £60m+ wage bill wouldnt pay itself would there be alot left over after wages paid?
Wonder how much he'd recoup through player sales especially with contracts running down and a few the wrong side of 30

Hernandez, robertson, maguire (contract ends?), snodgrass i think we'd make a decent return on

Would any of the others raise much?

Anybody know how much the club lost last time we were relegated to the championship?
Any links to the yearly accounts for the season 2015/2016 end of championship season

I think we ended up recieving £25m in player sales last time relegated
And still needing an £11m "gift" from allamhouse

    Could be wrong

Definatly be a few leaving if relegated id guess at
Snodgrass, elmo, hernandez, diomande, mason, robertson at least

I said precisely this a couple of months back and a certain esteemed mod said it was unrealistic and I was talking bollocks.

We are ****ed and have been pretty much from the day they took over/did not get the KC stadium 'gifted' to them. Get used to the idea. Division 3 here we come.

    Think thats a bit drastic
Surely in the allams interests to keep us up there in the divisions to recoup as much as possible back on their gift
Big question is can they do it as cost efficiently as possible
Sadly with ehab directing the ship no ****ing chance
Wouldnt be suprised to see a director of football/chief executive type employed

He is The Director of football isn't he. Believe me we are ****ed whilst he is around. Then you look at Swansea (American owners), Sunderland (same again) and us. All the owners are basket cases and we are all going down together.

I don't think Short is a 'basket case', he just wants to sell the club. The difference with him is he actually means it.

I think what at that time was being said was that the current wage bill takes up a large part of the revenue from the EPL, so they wouldn't be able to take much money back out of the revenue this season.

However the way things look now if they don't sell (it seems to me they ****ed up the chance by being too greedy) they could go down the route of asset stripping the club, and then using the U23's next season as a part of the team, and take as much back from the parachute payment as they can.

The £60M wage bill is in the EPL this season. If we go down the likes of Snodgrass, Dawson, Livermore, Hernandez, Mason and Maguire would be sold, thereby reducing the wage bill, accumulating sales money for them. The use U23's and cheaper players would then make up the team. IMO

Certainly those 4 could step up and even Mannion who IMO is an excellent prospect, could be a number 2.
