Whoa, stop geting all moist. Let me help you both. Every player has a price and Snodgrass is no exception. Nor is Abel. Dropping Snodgrass to the bench to give Mason a run in his preferred position makes both tactical and financial sense. But Snodgrass can play, as I've posted elsewhere. There are options. Snodgrass is in negotiation phase and the clusterfuck that surrounds him plays a big part of it. If someone wants him, the price is right and he wants to go then standing in his way will do us no favours at all. Nothings ever seems straightforward, but it often is. Just an opinion.
That article was planted by someone associated with Snodgrass to shout, from the rooftops, "MY CONTRACT IS RUNNING OUT AND WILL EVEN TAKE A PAY CUT IF THE CLUB IS RIGHT, JUST GET ME THE HELL OUT OF HERE". You might not like it, but that's stone cold FACT.
So you're just ignoring the part about touting around that he'd take a pay cut to move to another club?
I like your thinking John, my only issue is that Ebollocks of Tiny Cock fame would simply tell Phelan and his caveat to do one.
The only thing I can predict with any certainty about tonight is that it was going to be freezing...Pair of training pants under the jeans, thick leather jacket under several layers, hat , scarf and not forgetting the groves.
We're already relegated so now is the ideal time to cash in as it's a sellers market. Get in some prospects ahead of next season to settle in and half a season of premier league football to help prepare them for 17/18
Hi BCC. Not ignoring, just not seen it. Can you post a link or actually confirm how you know Snoddy actually said this?
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.da...wn-robert-snodgrass-9491867.amp?client=safari Serious question- how exactly do you think these stories end up in newspapers? And just for clarity I never said that he said it.
Oh that article, the one that says "The Humberside outfit are anchored to the bottom of the Premier League table with just 17 points from 20 top flight games and owner Assem Allam has been desperately seeking a buyer for the club since the end of last season." Wow 17 points from 20 top games huh? So you mean the paper that can see in to the future! Even better the paper that has us down for getting 5 points from our next 2 games???? You are so right, I concede, we must believe everything they say.
I would sell Snodgrass too, particularly if we need to sell before we buy. Loan a full back and sign two centre forwards. Stick to 3-5-2, but like you say two proper forwards. Chasing a game we can switch to 3-4-3 - how cavalier! Defending 5-4-1. We're OK in defence, LB, Goal and Midfield. A winger like Gradel would be welcomed but not necessary. Couple of forwards to mix it up. We need someone with pace. I'd take a punt on a couple of lower league strikers that may cause a nuisance in the PL, but will be potentially decent in the Championship. See if we can be cheeky and take a PL striker on loan - not sure who? I'd have a look at Madden, Ogle, Winnall. I'd also have a look at Marley Watkins at Barnsley - Winger with 6 goals and 3 assists. Can play either wing. Played in the SPL for Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Seems to have made the transition fairly well.
There's a difference between getting stats wrong and making up stories. Are you suggesting they've done the latter?
The Daily Record have regularly run stories about Scottish players being willing to take big pay cuts to join Rangers or Celtic from the Premier League, I don't believe they were all genuine stories.
I rate Marley Watkins, think he'd be a good signing. Barnsley might rinse us though. Patterson at Hearts I would guess is our gamble at RWB, he's not going to cost more than £1m as he's out of contract at the end of the season. Would fit in well with the other Scottish lads too, just broken onto the international scene. He's in good form at Hearts too, been playing on the wing, 8 goals in 19 appearances.
It's the Daily Record. It's not News of the Screws. I don't think they're all true either, I'm not even saying the Snodgrass story is true. I'm saying somebody representing Snodgrass has planted this story to wave a massive flag saying "HELLO, I'M HERE AND DESPERATE TO LEAVE. COME AND GET ME". Newspapers like the Daily Record don't make these stories up, whether they're true or not is completely different.
For saying that footballers would take pay cuts for playing for the team they support? Have you got a link to these apologies? There is no way in a million years that the Daily Record has made this story up. They simply wouldn't do that. And if they had, we would've had a comment from Snodgrass saying so, which has strangely not been forthcoming.
