But you made it out he was a member, even though he left a long time ago.

A group with the support of 25% of the electorate will not be able to dictate in the European Parliament unlike in the UK Parliament

He didn't deliver anything at the EU, the parliament he was elected to represent UK interests at.

    Happy to help.

I suspect we are not on the same wavelength. No moaning involved, just observation.

    Where did I say that?

I merely pointed out his hypocrisy in commandeering a fleet of trusting fisherman down the Thames when, in reality, when he was a member of the EU commission he demonstrated by his actions, or in this case, inactions, that he couldn't give a toss about the U.K. Fishing industry.

I disagree. At the time of his membership of the commission he had no idea there would even be a referendum on our membership of the EU. Never mind that we would leave.

Quite simply, his job was to advocate the U.K. Fishing industries cause at the commission meetings. He failed to do so.

Most of the fish we like to eat are migratory and do not remain in British waters.

If you think regaining control of UK waters whilst losing access to Irish, Dutch and Norwegian waters is going to be a success for our fishing industry then I think you will be disappointed. We currently catch the second largest tonnage of fish of any EU country, only 30% is caught in UK waters.

The issue isn't really EU at all, it's about restricting fishermen to ensure sustainability, something we still haven't solved due to the fishermen themselves dumping by-catch so they can target more profitable fish. The better we can control this then the better it will be for the environment and the long term future of the fishing industry.

Sadly all Farage was interested in was promising jam today.

I knew that fish such as salmon were migratory, but are cod and haddock (typical "chip shop" fish)?
Sorry can't be bothered to google, but as a percentage, what are the numbers of the traditional type fish (again the chip shop variety) consumed against the more healthy fish options today. I'm kind of guessing the healthier type fish have overtaken the more traditional varieties?

I do understand, but if May is not happy, she will deliver a full hard Brexit.

No, soppy bollocks. If we wanted to protect our fishing industry, we should have gone to war with Iceland in the 1970s.

Learn your history, if Iceland had lost it would have quit NATO, not what was wanted, so the UK stepped back
