Think he offers us something different. He has real pace and can be an outball with his strength holding things up If we need to go a bit longer now and then. Also seems more willing to run the channels and in behind the defence than Sturridge and Firm do when they play centrally. He's not as hard a worker as Firm, but then other than Sanchez, not many forward are. Getting in right positions to score goals and team is playing well with him so don't see him being dropped any time soon. Think Firm will have to get used to playing wide again for another 2 months once Mane goes to ACON as well
But that was my point, he was working that hard towards the end of last season which shows he can do it. There is no way Klopp's told him not to do it so he's must be choosing not to do it. Can't argue with the rest, just the attitude highlighted above that bugs me with him. He's even started scoring goals too
I'm not sure. Klopp is playing him and if he wasn't doing what Klopp wanted I think he'd be out the team. Maybe it's lack of options up top, but I think he's doing what Klopp wants of him. Maybe he knows he won't press as much as Firm, let's be honest, Cout & Mane don't match Firm either so it's not like we're losing something replacing Cout with Origi in that instance. I'm not sure if he was up to that level last year. Maybe it's because we were comparing him to Sturridge. I don't think it's an attitude or laziness thing, maybe he's still finding match fitness after barely playing for first 3-4 months of the season. It's only last 5-6 games that he's actually been in the first team starting so maybe just getting up to speed still. Maybe Klopp has asked him to stay central more and only press the 2 CB's rather than the whole back 4, don't know. But at the moment it's certainly working for him and the forward line, best compliment can give is that we've not missed Cout half as much as we all thought we would
Not comparing him to anyone else. Just his previous self. If we have other options (other than Studge who is lazier), I don't think Origi plays. Mane is just as bad btw. Difference is, he's a Klopp buy so he has a bit of leeway. Anyway, back to the point. The Ox... I think he would be a typical Klopp signing. He works hard, can play various positions, plus he's out of favour elsewhere and needs coaching to improve. He wouldn't be top of my wanted list but I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed him.
I don't like to see players labelled as "lazy" because they don't run around as much as some others do.
FFS how many times do I have to say it I'm not comparing Origi's to anyone else. I comparing him to his former self. He's not working as hard now as he was towards the end of last season.
What about labelling posters as lazy because they only read the first line of a post and not the rest of it? @Zanjinho
£257m bid for Ronaldo along with £85m a year in wages apparently from Chinese club. Absolutely bonkers.
OxCh ... if we buy him I think Klopp could do something with him a la Milner, i.e. find him a position where he can be effective. He's far from brilliant but suffers from mismanagement at Arsenal and Wenger's senility and out of touchiness. Would be interesting to see how he might develop with us but again the base level of talent in the player is not so high Origi starts currently because him and Firmino work best as the front pairing. Sturridge doesn't pair particularly well with either whereas those two playing together with Lallana and Mane in behind can be pretty effective
Is Ox out of contract in the summer? If so, he can sign a pre contract in January can't he? Have a few gooner mates who moan at his (and Walcotts) inconsistency and injury record. Would be an interesting signing. Has a lot of the attributes that Klopp likes but it's more than likely the agent rattling the cage.
Oh ok Still prime time for his agent to be making noises though. I actually wouldn't mind signing him for the right price but doubt there's anything in it.
Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic has opened the door to a move to Liverpool , but admits he is content with life in the Bundesliga for now. An £11million bid for the winger was rejected during the summer and Pulisic has admitted someday he would be open to moving to England. "I think with soccer, you never really know what's going to happen in your career - that's the beauty of it," the player admitted during a Facebook chat with fans when quizzed about moving to England in the future.
