Thought we might as well do one of these (even though we haven’t got a bean to spend apparently).

Rumours of departures:

Pickford: many teams linked with the best young English keeper in the world however his suspected knee injury might mean he goes nowhere till the summer.

Kone: still linked with likes of West Ham and now a reunion with Big Sam at Palace also rumoured with a release clause of around £18m – unlikely to move on till end of the month if at all due to ACON duty with Ivory Coast

Defoe: West Ham reportedly interested – would we really be that daft to sell our best (only?) chance of survival?

Borini: rumours over past few days that Milan and Roma interested however unlikely to happen till the summer

Khazri: almost a certainty to move on as Moyes clearly doesn’t fancy him

Rumours of incomings:

Since the murmurings coming from the club seem to be that we have nothing to spend it looks as if we might have to sell some of the above to fund any incomings.

Delving back into the free agent market and loan market might be a necessity.

Well it's really not our best players we need to sell
Then buy substandard replacements
Let's wait and see
Maybe are we building for the fizzy pop

Aye unless we send one back - Denayer & Januzaj. Not going to happen IMO.

And think we can only get 1 abroad since we've got Manquillo already.

So unless Short gives Moyes some pocket money (unlikely) we are ****ed.

Charlie Hurley to be given contract till end of season. This is cover for the lads off to the ACON tournament. Apparently if we match his pension this does not count in the FFP regulations. It also means we would enough in the bank to cover Len Ashurst and Cecil Irwin additions to the squad. All positive...onward and upward!!

How much did we pay for Borini? I'd take that plus 5m as I felt we overpaid at the time.

I like the kid but he isn't keeping us up.

According to the Mirror, Sunderland have entered the race for Aston Villa target Sam Johnstone.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was believed to have agreed a deal to join Aston Villa on a half-season loan deal but Sunderland are now trying to hijack that deal at the last minute.

Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Sam Johnstone so will not sanction a permanent transfer away from Old Trafford but he will let the former England youth international leave on loan in January.

Johnstone is third choice behind David De Gea and Sergio Romero so some game time would be beneficial for the promising goalkeeper.

Sunderland are in the market for a goalkeeper now after Jordan Pickford was ruled out for up to 8 weekswith a strained anterior cruciate ligament.

They appear to have turned their attention to Johnstone and the 23-year-old’s imminent move to Aston Villa could be in doubt now.

Aston Villa fans – can you still get him if Sunderland come calling? Who else could you get if you miss out on Johnstone? Let us know in the comments below…

We have mannone

Do we really need him

This would be a really silly move. We have enough keepers and Pickford will be back before the season finishes.

If we can get 18m for Kone, I would reluctantly trust Moyes to buy somebody of similar quality for half the price. Khazri, I really like him but if he's not going to play then sell if we can get 10m for him. Try and sell Lens or threaten to recall his loan, that could be another 10m.

35 - 40 million if we could offload them three. I reckon Moyes would get half of that to reinvest, which means we'd be looking at 4 or 5 players for 20m?
Big ask in the January market.

Whichever way you look at it, it isn't good.

If we do dabble in the market there could very well b some players who are out of contract in July and their current clubs will at least settle for a sum rather let go for nowt.

Like M'Vila.....lol....sorry I couldn't help myself. Hopefully we can get some deals through the door. I think Moyes will be on it and hopefully he can get some decent players in.... <cheers>
