More lies about fan behaviour at Hillsborough uncovered in a new documentary that's just finished on ITV, if you missed it try ITV catch up tomorrow.
I'm sorry, I can only laugh out loud now at the sheer ludicrousness of smears like the horse's arse and cigarette butts, and the referee's statement being changed from 'They were all happy' to 'They were all pissed' because of a typo following 'bad handwriting'. It just doesn't, in any way shape or form, look like 'pissed' at all. But it's symptomatic of timeline that happened: a balls-up in opening the gates and not closing the tunnel (as they had written, rehearsed procedures to do when they knew, as in this case, that thousands of fans were late due to the roadworks). then a cover-up in pretending that the fans smashed the gates down (and they would still be arguing that case now had the BBC not filmed officers opening the gates - Wright and his flying monkeys such as Bettison KNEW this was a lie from their own officers well before the BBC went public) ; and, when caught with their proverbial pants down, came the smear operation to deflect. And it's still going on now - they have papers and high placed journalists and columnist STILL trying the 'All the fans weren't angels' line. But the 'truth', even in this post-truth age, is out there now: only those who really, really want to believe the SYP/S*n line (for a whole host of crackpot, partisan and prejudicial reasons) that any rational, reasonable person would reject.

WTF was MacKenzie doing on the Daily Politics on the BBC today? Could this be in any way connected with Murdoch's rehabilitation and the takeover of SKY? Please help stop this now: https://www.change.org/p/the-right-...an-kelvin-mackenzie-from-appearing-on-the-bbc
Got to admire him. When you think of some of those involved who went on to collect gongs for "services to the public and policing" http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news...gh-campaigner-professor-phil-scraton-12383133
The rest of the media (including BBC Salford, 'natch) are just focusing on the Empire bit, and have deliberately left out the first bit about the families being deliberately ignored by the system.
It appears the system and the establishment still tried to wriggle themselves out of it until the bitter end. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...vors-seek-justice-for-alleged-police-cover-up I really don't expect the CPS to suggest prosecutions against even one officer, but there you go.
Unbelievable. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/conman-bagpipe-player-jailed-after-12430844

Well one stereotype which has some truth in it is that whatever prison he goes to there'll be several Scousers there. Hope he likes eating slop out.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-merseyside-38582111 big news this. Hillsborough suspect files passed to Crown Prosecution Service Files on 23 people and organisations involved in the 1989 Hillsborough disaster have been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service. An inquests jury concluded last April that the 96 victims of the FA Cup semi-final tragedy were unlawfully killed. The jury found match the commander, Ch Supt David Duckenfield, responsible for manslaughter by gross negligence. Prosecutors will now decide whether to bring criminal charges against the unnamed 23. Lawyer Elkan Abrahamson, director of Broudie Jackson Canter, which represents 20 of the Hillsborough families, said: "Our clients are relieved that files have finally gone to the CPS to consider criminal proceedings against 23 individuals and organisations. "Given that the CPS have been working in tandem with the police and the IPCC for many years, we believe decisions should now be taken without further delay. "We will continue to scrutinise the process and any decisions." The announcement follows the conclusion of two criminal investigations - ordered in 2012 following the publication of the Hillsborough Independent Panel report - by Operation Resolve and the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). Operation Resolve examined events up to and including the day of the disaster, including the police planning and preparation, ground design and the emergency response. The IPCC focused on the conduct of both South Yorkshire Police and West Midlands Police and allegations of a cover-up in the days and weeks that followed the tragedy. Fifteen of the 23 suspects relate to Operation Resolve and eight to the IPPC investigation, but the names of individuals and organisations named in the files passed to prosecutors have not been made public. Some of those previously named as suspects have died and cannot therefore be prosecuted. Charges being considered include: Gross negligence manslaughter Perverting the course of justice Misconduct in public office Offences under the Safety at Sports Grounds Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act Conspiring to pervert the course of justice The CPS will also consider "any other relevant offences" on the evidence presented by both investigation teams, the IPCC said. More than 170 allegations of police misconduct continue to be investigated by both the IPCC and Operation Resolve. Assistant Commissioner Robert Beckley, officer in overall command of Operation Resolve, said the "extensive file" submitted contained "over 35 million words" and reflected "four years of intense work from my teams."
Would have been even bigger news if the suspects had been named, its common practice for " suspects" to be named(except in rape cases), can't help but feel that the guilty are still being protected by giving them anonymity.
at this point nobody has been arrested and charged? As such they do have the right to anonymity. the press can report and arrest or charges have been laid but its like the cliff richard thing. he brought the cops to court for bringing the press along to search his residence. We will see what happens next. 6 months to assess mentioned.
