Just two comments about last night, we were beaten by the better team and Jose was an absolute beast, his head is still very much at Southampton on that evidence.
Or they think it is a 50:50 decision (i.e. not a dead cert) and missing Redmond for one game (when he might have been rested anyway) is no biggie. I'd rather they did that than be one of those team that throw their dummy out of the pram. As Puel said, better to look forward now.
Who? Where? If you are asking me if Claude should go my answer is unequivocally "putain, non, pensez-vous je suis un connard?"*. In every post I've said that I think he is a good manager. My French friends say he is a good manager. I like what he is doing, especially giving the kids a shout. He will need time. He will need support from the owner. He will need cash. He needs our support as fans. I truly believe he could turn out to be a brilliant manager. And we'll have **** matches, but I'm looking at the long haul. And my previous post was a joke, BTW. *"****! Do you think I'm an arsehole?" Love the fact that French swearing isn't filtered!
Your view on Fonte's tackle? I thought he tried tackling with his left foot, changed his mind last second and ended up doing a weird two footed lunge.
Never seen a tackle like it to be honest. Don't think he meant to do that but could have been sent off.
I think everyone is embarrassed by this song. It is as if the original is not cheesy enough. I will be interesting to see if the club registered the change in lyrics as my understanding of musical copyright is that you can't do this, at least without permission. About 20 years ago I was told a story about a singer who wanted to add lyrics to a Thelonious Monk tune but was warned off because the Monk estate would have set their lawyers off against her.
I have to accept that we were beaten by a better team on the day. Not making excuses, but Spurs certainly had that little bit of luck, when it was needed. The first and third goals coming about as a result of deflections creating the perfect pass, and the two Lloris incidents, at 2-1, when first time shots could have given us an equaliser. Had the chances been reversed, so that the Tadic chance had fallen to a naturally right footed player and the Pierre chance to a naturally left footed player, we might have got back into the game and then held out for a point. Most of us have been saying that we need another striker AND better attacking midfield players, which is true, but we also need more athletic and pacier midfielders, who can get forward more quickly, in the way Alli was doing for Spurs. Hojbjerg, JWP and Clasie are all pretty much one paced players, and not that quick, which is possibly why they don't get forward as much as we would like. Never realised just how fast he was, until seeing him stay ahead of Redmond, in "that incident".
