No way will City sit back and look to soak pressure, like you say that's not ever been Pep's way and it never will be. Either is it Klopp's way so we know it will be a pretty attacking affair.

If you play Kolarov at CB I would really fancy our chances in attack because he's very slow on the turn and has little to no defensive awareness as a centre half. Otamendi isn't the greatest either and is often too rash in his decision making and gets caught out because of this.

From our point of view I think if we play Wijinaldum and Henderson central midfield partnership I would be worried about the space between our defence and midfield that players like De Bruyne will receive because of the attacking nature of our midfield so I wouldn't be surprised if Can comes in for Wijinaldum to give us a little more defensive cover in midfield.

He is, which means we can't be as sloppy defensively as we were against Stoke. Aguero would've buried the Allen chance, as an example! He is far too clinical for us to be giving him clear cut chances like that.

Very annoying aguero is back after. A nice long break! Hope he takes a game or two to get firing but he always scores against us anyway.

That defence looks a shambles though and can't wait to see Mane firm and Origi up against it (you'll prob say similar abouts ours as well to be fair).

Think its it's going to be a case of which forwards are most on form as could be a few chances created both ends.

Love that CM as well with Toure there... we've always done well with him in team against us as his lack of defensive responsibility and movement has def helped us. Shame Don't have Cout but fancy Lallana and Gini to get plenty of space to hit you on counter.

I'd be amazed if pep sprung a surprise. With the players they have they can only play one way.

Like @Paulpowersleftfoot mentioned earlier, he did change his style of play to go longer against Klopp in one of their previous meetings to beat the counter press. I wouldn't be surprised if he played with Fernando & Fernandinho as holding players to restrict Firmino & Lallana's space in their favourite area (between defence & midfield) and pushed Yaya Toure up the pitch and used him as a target man to beat our high press. I don't think Aguero has the ability to be the recipient of long balls so I can't see him going doing that with Aguero up front, he'd need someone big and strong like Toure to do it.

Ming and the CDs have to be on their best game. Avoid giving openings to Aguero. And not to spill any shots.

Now that Matip is injured, it will be closer than I thought but still we surely should be able to beat them at Anfield!!

Can always wants to get forward all the time as well, though. It's the way we play.

I think its going to be a good game and may the best team win!

As long as we give our all and show nerve then we cant complain if great players like de bruyne and aguero do for us.

I dont fancy any of citys back 5 at all so it will be interesting. Id be disappointed to some extent if they hold us

I guarantee it will be the end of the world for some on here if we lose, irrelevant of how we perform.

In fact, even if it ended 5-4 to us as someone joked yesterday there will be suicidal ****s on here <laugh>

I guarantee if that happened it wouldn't be down to great play from Aguero, de Bruyne, Yaya, Nolito and/or Sterling, it will be down to bad mistakes by some (or maybe one) of your players.
Conversely all your goals will be down to fantastic attacking play that City just couldn't cope with <laugh>

Their defence is even crappier than ours. I can see at least 2 goals on a counter. Honestly their defenders are far too pedestrian and unreliable without Kompany and I have no worries that we will get all the 3 points. Have some faith people !

Yep. Its one of the few things that big me with this board (well, not all posters). It's rarely accepted that the opposition were just better, played well or nullified our qualities.

Bit like when you guys parked the bus. It's not like it's a new thing for Jose at Anfield. He knew if he'd attacked or opened up we've have destroyed you so he did what he had to; stopped us playing the way we had been playing.

I look forward to most games. Couldn't wait for our games against Real Madrid a couple of years back despite knowing we'd get hammered. However, I really don't like forward to the games against Mourinho sides. It's painfully boring!

Makes me giggle when I see talk of a player losing the ball in the opposition half being responsible for a goal or a fullback being out of position 5 seconds after putting in a cross.
I don't think I have ever read a comment on here about a great piece of wing play or a centre forward losing his marker to score a goal against you,
All of your goals are really well created though :emoticon-0105-wink:
