Great result in the end last night against a very decent side.
The first 20 mins was awful and we barely had a kick. Saints could have been 2 or 3 nil up, as we were all over the place. Eriksen, Alli, Kane and Sissoko didn't get a sniff in the saints 3rd, and we were second to everything. Our goal was completely against the run of play, but a great finish all the same, as there was a difficult deflection from Sissoko's cross.
After about 25-30 mins, there seemed to be a tactical change. - Rose and Walker initially seemed very timid and defensive (under instruction perhaps?) , which is why I think we saw the likes of Redmond and Bertrand giving us so many problems early on in the game. It was when Rose and Walker started to sit 10 yards further forward and do what they have done best this season getting down the wings, that we actually started looking like a side that saints would struggle against. - I don't know where we'd be without those two this season because our front "4" would be completely ineffective if those two weren't causing so many problems out wide and subsequently bringing the others into the game. The first 20 mins was evidence of this IMO. There was nothing at all going forward. It has to be said, that from this point we were the superior team for most of the match. Saints still looked dangerous at times and Lloris was doing all he could to help them <laugh>, but we pressed like we did last season, which was great to see. - and what a difference it made.

For me the sending off was correct, but I felt that it was well outside the box and should never have been a penalty. The fact that Kane missed was justice for Southampton. What a ****ing pen though! <laugh>

A much needed result with all of the other teams winning around us. COYS

I disagree with your comment about the penalty. It was an attempt to stop a goal chance by cheating and holding the player and not an attempt to play the ball. Just the kind of cheating that should always be heavily penalised IMO. The tug was outside the box the messing with the Delis legs was inside. Well done ref. more of the same please. People who deliberately cheat should be sent off everytime IMO provided it's crystal clear as that was.

    Morning, people.
Hope the hols have been good to you, and you are not related to clan Reynolds.

That was a classic half Spursy half Spurs performance. But a win is a win.
I will be in China for 2 weeks, and am unlikely to see any Spurs games until
Jan 14. I am wondering after the 90 mins yesterday that the enforced
withdrawal will be good for my longer-term health. :)

On business (10s of millions at stake) , and at very short notice. :(
So everything company/personal accounts/tax/bills that would normally be
done at my leisure over 4 weeks has had to be compressed into a time
    window ending Dec 31. :(

Whether there are places in / close to the hotels, where Spurs games will
be screened, is another story (I doubt there are illegal vidstreams on the
    domestic Internet) ...

I missed the game as we had tickets for a concert with my girls ex piano teacher as he know lives mainly in Berlin .
He played in the local arts centre and have to say it was very good . Sort of modern classical meets Radiohead with harmony , it may sound pretentious but really wasn't . I must admit ł kept checking the score line .
An excellent result and ł came out the theatre like a jolly Jack Tarr who had been on the razzle dazzle on a 24 hour pass . I would say lock up your daughters but I was with my wife and children .
A nice spring in the step for the coming new year .

In 2015 I did not have any domestic TV/cable channel showing PL games in
the hotel I stayed in. So I assume the same will be true this time.

Is there any way you can arrange for that money to 'go missing' en route and turn up in 2 weeks' time at the Lane in the form of Isco on a 5-year contract?

Given I have the same name as one of Spurs most famous sons, if do you see a press
release announcing the signing, do not be so hasty to post about it on the Hack watch article.

That would mean having to remove SoS from my "dead to me" list
(and we can't be having that) ...

You think Chiriches is one of Spurs most famous sons ??
I bet you are the kind of Spurs supporter who thinks we should sign Samir Nasri.

For me, there was enough of a foul outside of the box for us to have been awarded a free kick before it even got to the stage of being a penalty though. Whilst I agree that the trip inside the box is worthy of a penalty, the damage had already have been done. He has to be sent off because it denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, but I think we'd feel aggrieved if the shoe was on the other foot.
