One of Herman Tilke's most popular tracks with F1 fans and drivers alike: Turkey - who's contract with F1 expires at the end of 2011 - is not yet completely off the agenda as a possible venue for 2012, according to this story in Autosport:

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/93692

Apparently, negotiations with Ecclestone are still ongoing to retain one of Tilke's better efforts, with the possibility of taking the 2012 F1 calendar above 20 events for the first time in Grand Prix history.

There are logistical difficulties which make this prospect unappealing to the teams, but with the recent announcement of Sky's new deal to broadcast every single race live, with BBC scaling down their contribution; one wonders if Murdoch and Bernie will be doing everything they can to make this happen.

I can't imagine the teams supporting this decision, purely for the afforementioned logistical reasons.

If there is 21 races I expect the BBC to round up when showing half, i.e. 11 races.

I wish you luck convincing them to do that. It won't happen, murdoch must be licking his chops with delight.

Turkey might be the best Tilke track and is very popular with F1 drivers and fans and therefore I fully expect it to be taken off the calendar.

I have never been a fan of Tilkes tracks, for me they just are too modern. So I think a few more of his should go and some of the old tracks brought up to modern saftey standards and re-introduced, not going to happen though.
Who designed the new section of Snetteron because the BTTC fro there last weekend was fantastic. It made a great improvement to an old track.

What would this game be called? F1 Monopoly? I think Murdoch would be quite good at it.

Helmut Marko or Jean Todt :D
That'd be a great game, all the drivers who live in Monaco would be tax exempt, a community chest would see the worst driver at HRT be replaced, etc.

Bernie could sell a 4X4 to an environmentalist. Despite the many faults he has, you cannot deny he is one hell of a salesman.
