It would be Phil Neville as coach not Garry Neville.

For me, it's either Klinsmann, De Boer or Martinez. If not one of those, then Giggs.

Pardew no tnx defensively worse than us Palace sacked him for a reason.
    Giggs no experience no thanks
Rowett not sure what all the hype is. Took a Championship team from relegation to 10th. Second season 10th again were in 7th when sacked on the back of a 3 and 4 nil drubbing. Plays a low possession counter attacking style defensively suspect. No PL experience no thanks
Coleman and Roberts possibly but can see TLF'S concerns but at least has PL experience along with experience of a relegation battle.
I too am not excited by any of the prospects so far just hope it will be someone that can organise a defence and know the transfer market with PL experience. Not too much to ask is it?? <laugh><laugh><laugh>

He would sort it out, but have to play himself, still be better than the **** we have at the back. I cant see it, but doing ok at Reading.

Sky reported earlier that we are looking for a manager who is not currently employed. Looks like possible cheap option again and I wonder why these guys are unemployed at the moment, there is a reason for that Mr Jenkins.

Tbh, I think we'll bring in Pardew. He's the safe bet out there to keep us up. Hope not though because I detest the way he behaves etc.

I dont like the guy at all, but I am with you and think it may be him. In his favour he does tend to get off to a good start at his new clubs.

If it's a short term deal to keep us up it's a win, win for everyone. He knows what's required to stay in this league and he improves his reputation if he keeps us up.

Hugely difficult job, picking a new manager. One thing's for sure, whoever is appointed, it won't please everyone as the comments on this forum show.

Apart from a few top international managers virtually anyone else is a bit of a gamble. We really need a good appointment and someone who will stick around for a few seasons to bring back some stability. No idea who that would be.

What will pardew do for us that he wasnt doing for Palace? Really don't see the logic of bringing in a recently sacked manager of a club that was struggling as a bad as we were. Not really a safe bet at all. At the time we played them they defensive record was as bad as ours. Might as well leave Curtis in charge

Well I hope we het someone in soon, because I have been told that Williams is currently in charge at the moment. Anyone know if true? This would be the guy who was brought in to help sort out our defence and he has done a fantastic job there hasn't he, just surprised he wasn't released as well. What I do hope is that whoever comes in brings his own backroom staff and isn't forced to work with the people who are there now. We need to wipe the slate completely clean and start again.

Pompey fan in peace - I really hope you get yourselves sorted out - you've been a pleasure to watch up until this season - when the wheels have really come off, on and off the pitch. It may not be the name your after but Gary Rowett would be a good place to start, he'd sort out the defensive woes within the team and generally give you a lift. You do have some very good players still but they are not gelling. Losing Williams was massive and I'm sure like me you were gutted Joe Allen wasn't snapped up when the chance was there. Genuine best wishes and hopes that you stay up.

Will be interesting to see if Giggs/Coleman/Pardew etc will be in the crowd for the Bournemouth game.

Giggs and Coleman are simply the media darlings, I'd prefer to make a complete break from the dross the media are churning and go with Rowett, just a hunch on my part......................<ok>

More likely that they could even be playing - as emergency signings. <laugh>
