Yeah, I do hear you on that. We had them on the ropes, but didn't carry on which was a bit odd really. I can take this one though - they're a good, well drilled team (if not as thrilling as some).
[QUOTE="The Ides of March, post: 10052630, ............ I feel ashamed of my comments about Chelsea and Manchester United so won't indulge in it anymore.[/QUOTE] Quite right too!
Interesting reading comments about Redmond. For us he was a lazy little bugger, pulled out of challenges, couldn't be bothered to defend, and only turned up properly 1 out of 3/4 games. When we have a player doing that sort of thing now, we say he's "doing a Redmond"! Good luck with him, I wasn't sorry to see him leave us.
Not sure what happened to you after we equalised...you were head and shoulders above us for the first 20 mins. Penalty was harsh cos foul was outside the box but I think it was a red cos he pulled Dele back outside the box when he was in on goal. Shame that 1 or 2 on here think we are scummy cos in my opinion we are similar types of clubs...like to play football and have decent fans. I think you are where we were under Martin Jol. ..on the edge of breaking into the top 6 on a regular basis. Apart from when you make you final visit to the Lane hope you do well
Maybe, but won the ball cleanly, this is difficult because hevtakes the ball without touching the player, but he he slightly mistimed that, it could be a nasty injury
Bang on mate, it should have been a free kick and red card regarding the Redmond foul. You were deserved winners, no complaints about the result. Chelsea were better though.
Think it was quite a good game, we were just on the wrong end, I have been bored this season, but not tonight, well until 3-1
I genuinely think we took their game to them initially, we pressed and hassled them in their half to block them coming out. Whether we couldn't maintain it or whether they could just work around it... well that part I don't know the answer to, but hopefully Claude does.
Not sure that was the intention, I think the equalizer changed that and a goal out of nothing seemed to suck the confidence out of the boys and they started being a little conservative
Maybe so. Still better for me than Tadic who didn't shoot at all in a similar situation because it was on his wrong foot.
Not sure his game plan was defensively, we started very attacking and then lost confidence with goals against
I agree, not sure what he was thinking there. I was watching replays trying to determine if we had another player coming round but there was no chance.
