Why d we actually bother with corners...we should just ask if the want a goal kick...it would save time and make sure we don't get caught on the break
To be fair we are playing pretty well and look by far the better team. It's just going to be typical spurs that we don't go on and win this, we all know it!
We're playing the long con - teams think we can't take corners for ****, then suddenly we hit them with a corner that is lethal with its accuracy to take the lead.
1-1 HT. Started horribly, but were largely on top after the equaliser. Didn't threaten Forster anywhere near enough times, though. Need to keep calm, control possession and start forcing mistakes at the back. Their early press really troubled us.
1-1 HT We should win an award for shooting ourselves in the foot so often. Eriksen has had a solid first half, a few overhit passes aside (and the usual shower of ****e at corners but those are to be expected nowadays). He is the only one of our attacking players who is showing for the ball and dragging Soton out of position. Alli and Sissoko haven't done badly but need to HURRY UP when in possession. Wanyama has been good and very nearly scored there at the end. It's hard to point a finger at an obvious solution though, because the problems (recurring) seem to afflict the entire team: mental weakness and this ridiculous insistence that each player fills out a tax return before making a simple pass. I never dreamed I'd see myself type this, but I would replace Kane at HT and give Janssen a chance to prove his worth. Our talisman has been a shadow of his former self for the past 3 games now. I don't recall him doing anything of note since before the United defeat other than giving the ball away of dallying in possession. We finished the half well on top but in all honesty Forster has had a very quiet evening.
On Southampton. ..how ****ing out of order are the commentators? They are virtually selling their goalscorer...ever comment about him involves how clubs will be bidding for him. Hope he stays put.
I think the service to him has been poor so he's come looking for it. I'd like to see Dier back in midfield where he belongs influencing forward play and passing into the forwards. Why can't Wimmer go to CB instead and Wanyama make way who's been patchy?
They always pull this ****. Looking at City's defence though, it's hard not to see him as an improvement.
Can't stand it...have seen it so many times with us. But strangely it ain't happening to non top 4 united...go figure!
The nadir has to be a few years ago when they were actually going out of their way to speculate how much Southampton would get for Oxlade-Chamberlane
