Hrs been poor wide left anyway. Studge middle with mane and Origi wide isn't awful. Plus be fresh for city game then
Can't see it. Firmino will play imo. He's not the type to hide either, he'll work even harder to try and right the wrong. Personally, I don't care what players do away from the club. If he wants to be a bellend then that's up to him.
If he gets locked up or knocks a kid down I suspect you'd feel differently. Again, I don't expect them to be angels, but drunk driving is insane when you have their money.
Exactly. They can afford a chauffeur. They can even afford to have their own personnel taxi driver with the meter running ffs. No excuses when you can afford what most only dream of having.
I don't drink. If he gave me a few grand I'd take a couple of weeks off work (even over Christmas) and be a t his beck and call to drive his Range Rover. I'm sure my family would understand when I gave the dosh to my daughter to pay off some of her staudent loan or something (and he'd not notice it, and with a clever accountant he could probably offset it against tax too). Point is there would be thosands of drivers (all more qualified than me) who'd do the job and be happy for it. I repeat again (droningly, I know) that it is so, so unnecessary).
He won't get locked up. He could have been paralytic and he still wouldn't get locked up. He's a dick for doing it but this is a modern society reaction. Social media etc. And no, that doesn't make it right either! However, it is what it is... He's been busted, he'll face the consequences. He will get a driving ban and community service #standard Edit: I should probably point out that my current view is based on us not knowing the details. All we know is he was over the limit. He could be a light weight and only had one pint or he could have been on a session.
Agree with you if they don't do something that's illegal but drink driving is stupid and could endanger a complete random person.
Your edit makes no difference. Again normally agree if don't know all details but know enough that he was over the limit, that's as much info as you need to know.
Never said or wasn't stupid. However, I think from a fans perspective, it should be about how it effects his performance on the pitch. If he's a light weight and had one pint it probably won't. If he was paralytic then it would. I suspect it will be somewhere inbetween but at this time we done know. One thing is for certain, the pressure is on him to perform should he play tomorrow. If he doesn't play then he will be automatically be deemed guilty (of the paralytic version), more so than already.
And I don't agree with the "with his money there is no excuse" line either. Sure, he can afford a chauffeur but it's effectively saying poor folks should be excused because they cant afford an alternative. Clearly that's bullshit! #twistedlogic
Players have responsibilities to the club they are playing for as a result, must protect the interest of their clubs
Personally, I think poor people should be excused because they can't afford an alternative. No, I don't, but I do think it makes Firmino a bigger dummy because he has the means to avoid this.
But you give a **** about what they do in their own time. I don't. I only care if it effects their performance for Liverpool.
Do you not think this impacts the club too? If he misses games due to legal proceedings, that impacts the club. If it impacts public perception of the club, that could impact sponsor, attendance, maybe even make some kids not end up becoming fans. Being a dick off the field may not impact the club as much as being a dick on the field, but it does impact us. Plus every red is probably a tiny bit less proud of the club after an incident like this. It certainly makes me minimally unhappy.
No, don't care about personal lives, like I said think he's a dick for doing something illegal that could have had huge implications to some other poor persons live while they were innocently driving or walking down road.
So, as a fan you don't care? You care as a member of society? Aka; modern society big brother bullshit.
Simply put, no. Not one sponsor will Batter a eyelid. Not one. If he misses games then that's different. As I said, we know nothing atm so people are assuming the worst and over reacting. Assuming he was drunk (being charged for drink driving doesn't mean he was btw), as no one on here ever done anything stupid whilst drunk? No matter how much money someone earns, they're still human. I actually think it's worse (from a non-footballing angle) if he's only had two or three pints rather than being pissed. Why? Because it's a "conscious" decision in that situation. Since he's a liverpool footballer, I'll be more concerned about the heavy drinking (should that be the case) than the driving.
