Last night I'm sure I heard Ken Livingstone saying that one of the reasons was tuition fees, as if these ****s could even spell universities.

Would you say the same thing about poll tax riots, that they were unacceptable and shouldn't have happened?

Probably not directly no, but they've been affected by the cuts, either them or their parents left unemployed due to the cuts, and they're angry.

If it's just a random thing then how did Nick Clegg predict that there would be riots in London last year because of these cuts?

No rage disease, just stupidity. I think it may be a case that human beings have evolved as far as they can and we have now started to evolve backwards.

Sky News presenters said on the ground that the kids simply looked bored but were smiling and having a great time when lotting and causing destruction.

Riots are always unacceptable. I have no problem with peaceful protests but when they turn violent and result in injury and destruction of property then that is unacceptable.

Riots can be acceptable if they are in the right cause. Riots have occured because of unjust tax regimes, brutal dictatorships, mistreatment of people etc.

However, what is happening in London is not for a just cause.

This has got nothing to do with politics, cuts or police brutality. It is opportunistic looting and wanton destruction.

He isn't backing up the thugs though is he? He's just asking if there's a link between cuts and the riots which is perfectly reasonable. My view is that there is not and I think a lot of the people involved probably come from fairly good backgrounds and just fancied a bit of a barney. Half of them probably had no idea how out of hand it was going to get. Now they need to face up to the consequences

It's true that Clegg predicted riots but I think they were more of the variety that we saw in Central lodon with the students and piublic servants as opposed to what is happening now.
