Made a lot of money playing four chords badly....
Just goes to prove rockers are tone deaf.

George Michael dead now, what a terrible year its been for music
yet the likes of Simon Cowell and Bob Geldof still walk this earth, there's just no justice

Not quite Chippy. He played 3 chords very well for 20+ years and was very successful. Apparently he & the rest of the band were genuinely very talented and could have done a lot more. But 3 chord blues made them a lot of money. So why would they change?

No fan of his, but 2016 ends with the death of George Michael. Gives a new meaning to Lizzie's Annis Horribilus

Personally, I can't understand the public weeping and wailing over so called 'stars' when they die. In my case, I didn't know them or personally care about them and neither did they for me. It annoys the hell out of me when the media makes a sweeping statement and pronounces that "The whole country is in mourning for (some arsehole)". They're wrong. I, for one, don't give a ****, and it's very likely I am not alone. To me George Michael was a ****ter that sang songs, some of which I liked and others I didn't. Likewise David Bowey, a real weirdo who dressed as he sang, weird. Quotes like "he was my idol" and "I loved him/ her" simply convey to me that the person had no ****ing life of their own.

Were you saddened at the passing of Barry Kitchener a few years ago?
