Its a Deja Vu all over again, and this time we embark to MK Dons with Karl Robinson under a bit of pressure. We left the New Den feeling mightily p1ssed off and cheated on Wednedsay night, as Charlton turned in their habitual capitulation against Millwall. Robinson has certainly talked the talk in his first five games - something MKD fans claim he did a lot of with them - but apart from 45 mins of good football at Bradford, his sides have performed every bit as poorly as Slade's did. The only difference under Robinson is that our defence now looks about as secure as a sandcastle at high tide. Options off the bench look limited today, but with players like Morgan Fox crying out to be dropped through lack of form, surely some changes have got to be made? The team badly needs the return of Chris Solly and Ricky Holmes, but does today's fixture come too soon?
betting on match looks strange?? Charlton shortening left right centre but only 7% of bets seems to be going on an away win... home win is lengthening yet 40% of bets going on MKD.... Charlton at about 'two and a bit to one' with MKD at about 'evens plus smidge' means that I am steering clear of this one.
Anyone going? My prediction is that in the press conference afterwards Robinson will say "I don't want to make excuses, but..............."
I've got something better to do. Lying down. Meh! Stomach ache as I ate too much food over a short period of time.
Charlton win, dare I say to nil too Nothing more than Christmas optimism, no method to the madness. They owe the fans a performance.
Can't see past another defeat. When Slade was sacked, the general view was that an incoming manager would have a tough group of fixtures to start with. Our limited 'top six' squad has shown again that there is no room for the day to day injuries that occur at this level, and we are down to the bones, and the youngsters. will be expected to rise up yet again to plug the gaps in RD's flying circus. Really, KR needs a draw to shore up his reputation, and to inject some of the confidence we had started to get under Nugent. Could really go either way, but I'll go for a 2-0 defeat.
Aaaaaand.........we 're winning at half time. Sounded like the game is all one way traffic supplied by the MKD's, but we have the goal. 45 minutes to hang on, or maybe play some football ourselves.
My mate taught me about seven folds - didn't really understand (bit abysmal seeming I do the books for my business), but we turned another bet from 10p (10 stake) in to 247 despite p'boro conceding late. Then I won charlton 1-0 at 6/1 for £50 (**** odd)
Just home A catastrophic spectacle as a football match, but at least we won it. MK threatened in the first ten mins, but after that Phillips was a spectator for 80 mins plus. We scored from our only proper attempt at goal in the whole 90 mins(we were that bad), Lookman running on to a decent through ball and finishing with aplomb. A special word about that Scouse melon Robinson , who in finest Phil Brown style bollocked the players on the touchline during a lengthy injury break. Jackson (poor) hobbled off to be replaced by Aribo, and the midfield was again inept with Crofts particularly bad. Hats off to the 500 or so Addicks who made it there today through Boxing Day roadworks on the M1. Don't be fooled by the result - we were sh1te again today and need 4/5 new players quick.
