If he had any shred of decency he'd withdraw from the coalition and force a new election. Not that that would really solve anything. This country needs strong, radical politics, which none of the main parties are prepared to even consider.
He doesn't have the power or backing to do anything like that. He's a puppet at the moment, he's worried of getting even more bad press so he's not going to do anything radical. We need a new major party, but it'll never happen. It would need the backing of the media, huge businesses, very important current government officials and lots and lots of money. Which means they'd have to strike deals with them all, leaving the eventual government as 1 giant bargaining chip.
it's the first time that a whole generation have been let down. The future of the kids in London is very bleak, no job prospects, youth initiatives being cancelled. They have no status in society so have absolutely nothing to fear about rioting and looting. The government is the cause of all this and the rioting is simply a symptom. This will continue to happen until the government starts addressing policies and showing they have respect for our citizens. Why are people blaming the rioters when they are clearly a symptom of the actual problem and not the problem themselves?
Shoot them all. They're all scumbags, theives, degenerates etc etc. Police need to beat the living sh1t out of them, remove all privileges in jails, take away their benefits and then to set their homes on fire so they can live like homeless people and then have something genuine to 'riot' about! Mark Duggan - suspected gangster carrying a firearm. I'm not suprised the police shot him dead. People like him need to be wiped away. Parents need to learn how to control their children properly, they seem to just have them so they can receive some benefits. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY IRRATIONAL AND MINDLESS RESPONSE - LIVING IN LONDON, I NEED TO VENT MY ANGER HA!
The Lib Dems sold their principles to gain power. A self- serving choice, to further their careers rather than do what was best for the country. If anything they are worse than the Tories- at least with the Tories you know your going to get a government consisting of a privileged minority ruling in the interests of a privileged minority. If you vote for them you deserve what you get. A lot of people voted for the Lib Dems did so believing they were lining themselves up behind someone with a bit more moral backbone.
If we confiscated everyone that the rioters owned, including houses, drugs, stolen watches etc.. I wonder how much the country would make? We could then force them to work in factories, chained to the machines!
The worst thing is, a lot of these rioters (mainly inner city Black youths) act as if this country owes them a living i.e. the government should pay for everything, give them a degree, give them a job. These people need to realise that they are the ones who owe this country. I know a lot of people who live in poverty and are surrounded by crime but they have good parents who instill good values and morals and these people grow up to be successful and stay out of trouble. The parents are criminals as well as these rioters.
Can any of you guys see Mr Cameron resigning if the situation gets more worse and spreads to other cities.
Even if he does, I don't see any other leaders fit to run this country. Everyone is too PC and scared to do anything radical.
They can't get it right all the time. I'm not talking about government corruption and money grabbing ****ers - I'm ashamed at the behaviour towards other innocent people that happen to be in their way because they live in London - Sepp Blatter isn't going to cause someones house to up in flames is he? These rioters are not making a stand against anything - they are simply a thieving bunch of ****s.
No. He'll just claim it's all merely criminal behaviour and advocate more Draconian measures to deal with it.
Completely agree. Muppet - Yes corruption is everywhere - but at least I don't feel threatened in my own home or street when Sepp Blatter is re-elected as Fifa President. Am I scared at the thought MP claiming expenses? NO - What scares me are the gangs attacking innocent people, looting (including charity shops!), burning buildings etc.
Yep- draconian measures that will probably totally inconvenience the likes of you and me and not have any impact whatsoever on the little sods we need to target because the first time one of them gets a crack on the head with a truncheon it's called brutality.
Perhaps you were not around or old enough to notice but there is really no difference to the situation now and what we experienced in 1979/80 - plus there was more youth unemployment then. Listen to Ghost Town by The Specials
Those of us old enough to remember the advent of Thatcherism will be getting the old deja vu here. I hoped we'd progressed a little since then but apparently not.
I agree, i cant condone what is going on around the country but this has been brewing for years. I think people are finally getting fed up of the useless w*****s who run this country ie Police and politicians.
