Arsenal are reportedly plotting a January bid for Sunderland’s highly-rated English goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are interested in Sunderland shot-stopper Jordan Pickford. The 22-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances between the sticks for the Black Cats and amidst interest from a host of other top Premier League clubs, it appears the Gunners have also joined the long list of admirers for the Englishman. Jordan Pickford is a 22-year-old goalkeeper who has come through the ranks at Sunderland. But it is this season that his talents have shone. The player has managed to dethrone former Arsenal keeper Vito Mannone and establish himself as the undisputed first-choice for David Moyes. Arsenal have been linked with numerous promising goalkeepers in the recent past, with the latest being Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak. And the Gunners now seem prepared to compete for the in-form Englishman. As per the report, Arsenal are ready and willing to test Sunderland’s resolve with a January bid for the 22-year-old. While the amount associated with the offer has not been speculated, it is being reported that the Gunners are willing to loan the player back to Sunderland till the end of the season as part of the deal, something which could hand Arsenal the edge over other rivals. It'll probably be announced tomorrow morning that we're selling him for peanuts, that'd be typical of Sunderland. I haven't resigned myself to us selling him yet though, the big clubs were always going to be interested but I bet he's happy where he is and that still counts for something with some players. I don't think I've ever heard him talk about his career ambitions, don't know what he wants. I'm sure playing for England would be a priority.
No mention of a fee? Probably around £15m? That would get you two or three decent players, but would it be reinvested? Not pleasant when you're stuck with a twat as a chairman.
Arsenal is definitely the place to be if you want to win nothing for a long time but say you're leaving to win things.
loaning him back for the end of the season will be the tipping point that makes the greedy ****ing yank take the deal probably already sorted , and they are trying to convince Pickford to move, his mum and dad will be threatening to disown him if he does though.
I don't have much room in my heart to pity other teams when I get enough self pity as a Sunderland supporter but I do almost feel sorry for Arsenal fans, they could be winning things if Wenger wasn't so stingy in the transfer market. He seems to think that the more expensive someone is the worse value they are, not the better they are.

Neither do I mate I don't give a **** about them. It's like I can see objectively it must be frustrating for them but I don't actually care. I like Wenger though, decent bloke with a bit of class.
