In four days time the wait is over and the Premier League will kick off again and this is the first televised match of the season!

This fixture last year has already become a classic as Arsenal squandered a 4 goal lead and fell victim to Tiote's powers.

So I was just wondering who Newcastle and Arsenal fans anticipate starting for this fixture and what score do you think the game will finish (and who will score).

I think Newcastle will line up like this...

    ---------------------Krul-------------------------

    Simpson-------Saylor-----Coloccini----Jose Enrique

    --------------Cabaye-----Tiote-------------------

    ---Barton-----------Jonas------------Marveaux---

    ---------------------Ba---------------------------

However I have no idea regarding the midfield, because we could see Gosling, Vuckic or Obertan starting. I think Newcastle will win 2-1 (have to be optimistic) with goals from Ba and Saylor with Gervinho scoring for Arsenal.

    What does everyone else think?

Lineup - Back 4 picks itself provided Enrique isn't sold. Midfield likely to have Cabye and Tiote, Barton seems to think he's playing, doubt he'll drop Jonas. I reckon we may see Ba and Ameobi/Best start up front.

    Prediction - 5-5 ;)

i think if you switch jonas with marveaux you'll be almost there. although i wouldn't be surprised if barton played in the hole either. assuming he plays.

if he isn't playing i think it'll be gosling.

    I hope we do this:

    Krul

    Simpson Taylor Colo Pieters

    Tiote
    Cabaye Barton

    Jonas---------------Marveaux
    Ba

Pardew is worried about Enrique's mental state and we apparently want Pieters in by the weekend so I think even if Enrique is still here Pieters will start if we get him.

Bench: Harper, Williamson, Kadar, Gosling, Vuckic, Raylor, Best.

I said on another thread that I'm not buying the full list of Arsenal injuries and believe he's just protecting some of the players from international duty

    I think we will go with;

    ---------------------Krul-------------------------

    Simpson-------Saylor-----Coloccini----Jose Enrique

    --------------Cabaye-----Tiote-------------------

    ---Jonas-----------Obertan------------Marveaux---

    ---------------------Ba---------------------------

    with the AM 3 interchangable

With a 4-2-3-1 the three behind the striker can rotate throughout the game, so it is good that the three can play in a variety of positions.

I would love to see this formation to be honest but i dunno what he'll go for. he might stick to a 4-4-2 until people get to grips with the PL first few games perhaps.

To be fair we all know Lovenkrands will start...lets not be unrealistic. Also he will probably start on the wing as well <doh>

I hope its a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. If Pardew starts using the 4-4-2 with 2 big forwards he would still be using Hughton's exact tactics.

Obertan's gone straight into the matchday squad. Expect him to come on after 60-70 mins and run at the tired defence.

My bench is looking a bit too big like

  14. Enrique showed no signs of aggravation or lack of heart against Fiorentina. If he has to stay he'll play well IMO.

It'd be nice to see Obertan get 15mins just to wet his appetite and see what its about. if he gets a big ovation then it might put him straight and he'll leave his nervousness in the locker room.

You think? He's in the squad and we've only really got Raylor or Abeid who can come on and play on the wing.

Pardew has already confirmed he will go straight into the squad for the game, and he has had a full pre season with ManUre so fitness wont be an issue, an with all his french mates at the club shouldnt have a problem fitting in, I can see him starting
