Tbf there are lots of "children's films" I would still watch and can still appreciate for different reasons.

Just yesterday saw the remake of Jungle Book. Very good, seen it already on release last year, but good enough to watch again.

I'm not saying I wouldn't watch them necessarily, I probably will in time.

It's that over the top dressing up lot. They genuinely need to grow the **** up, it's a fantasy film.

I've never understood adults reading Harry Potter for instance, but the ones who queued up to buy the latest installment at midnight and read it in a day should be put up against a wall and shot.

Watching it at 3 o'clock today.

Personally I don't share the disappointment some people had with the Force Awakens.
It wasn't a perfect movie and it had its problems, but it pissed all over the prequels because it had a coherent plot (unlike the phantom Menace), people that could actually act (Unlike all 3 of the prequels bar McGregor and McDiarmid), and it didn't bore me to tears or make me laugh (Like Yoda flipping around like a ****ing tazmanian devil or Vader yelling "Noooooooooooooooo!").

So I was actually pretty happy with the Force Awakens as a whole, that might be because the prequels set the bar so low, but I was okay with TFA.
Will let you know what I think of Rogue One tonight when I get back.

I didn't dress up, but I don't understand peoples problem with it. Is it jealousy, perhaps? because you really want to do it but feel socially constrained cos your mates will take the piss out of you? that's quite sad really, you killed your inner child through peer pressure and have become joyless.
As to the film, I thought it was one of the best SW films of the franchise, when looked at from an adults eyes it had some cheesey parts, for sure, but no where near as many as the others had.
It was all about the ending, I waited for them to ruin it with a typical hollywood cliche', but they nailed it.

Jealous of adults dressing up as characters from a kids film? Yeah that's what it is. <laugh>

I dont have a problem with other people dressing up, infact I enjoy it, I like laughing at people looking like complete bell ends to sit in a dark cinema.
I have a problem with me dressing up though, because it is pointless, and I would get no joy from it.
If you do get joy from it, knock yourself out......

Is there a difference between going to watch a film dressed as on of the characters, or going to watch a football match dressed as one of the players? I don't really see it myself, although it could be said that wearing a football top is worse as you're also an unpaid walking billboard hawking whatever corporate ****s your team sold out to.

Getting dressed up for a film is too time consuming for me to bother with tbh, though I do get joy from dressing-up and going to Fancy-dress parties where I try to stay in character as long as possible. "Health and Safety Man" has been my favourite so far, stayed in character all night and bordered on the edge of irritating.

Yes....Because if you go to watch Star Wars dressed as a ****ing stormtrooper, you look a total bell end.
I guess being a West Ham fan, every time you go to a game, you also look a total bell end, so I could see why you would not see a problem :p

A lot of people have exactly the same perception of men in football tops, so there's not really that much difference, except the Star Wars costumes probably fit a lot better around the wearers waist. As I said, I didn't dress up, and I stopped wearing football tops for anything other than football decades ago, mainly cos the material isn't really arm-pit friendly.

    Rogue One was very good.
Probably better than the Force Awakens.
    Tarkin CGI was very good.
The Leia CGI not so much.

Decent story, and great to see so many returning character, Dr Evazan, Ponda Babba, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Grand Moff Tarkin, Leia, Darth Vader, Gold Leader, Red Leader.

Liked how they made a point of showing Red 5 get killed at the end battle, because Luke replaces him a couple of weeks later (in Ep 4).

I thought the CGI people, though extremely well done, was a bit creepy. they looked like the people in a plastic-y kind of way. good film though despite my slight problems with the film
