Two massive home games before we reach the halfway mark.
I think Klavan has been more composed and better on the ball in recent performances. I'd rather see him play over Lovren.

His last goal in league was against us 18 months ago in that horrible end of season game

    Hughes 'surprised' Liverpool sold Allen

Mark Hughes says he was "surprised" Liverpool let Joe Allen leave to join Stoke in the summer, and thinks the Welshman will receive a "great reception" at Anfield on Boxing Day.

Allen's only fault is we had a lot of players that play in the same position that are better than him.

Aye, wee Joe Allen, would play a handful of games, get some form then go get injured for a few weeks..
There was no consistent run from him that would most likely have saved his career at Anfield.

I liked Joe but he just couldn't get a run of games due to injuries. Gini does the same as Allen but provides more consistency and is better physically. Gini has more goals and assists in him (hasn't shown it yet at LFC).

I think a lot of what Gini does go unnoticed because he isn't getting assists and goals but he recycles and protects the ball very efficiently, and presses very effectively.

Wijnaldum has a more fun name, but otherwise you're not incorrect. Wij is decent but not spectacular.

Joe Allen to me was like a poor man's Coutinho. The things Allen was good at, Coutinho was better, but they were good at similar things. Too often early on Allen was played in a more defensive role, when he was allowed a more attacking role he impressed.

    Wijnaldum has been fantastic

He's like a Carrick with 10 years younger leg
