Nobody deserves to be shot by the police but you do have to wonder how he got into that position. As for me being on smithdown rd, no but two mates were and they are not rioters, if you know what I mean.
No. An armed, drug dealing gangster was shot dead by police. Police are saying he fired at them but now whispers are going around that this isn't true and that they just executed him (even though nothing officially has been released by forensics). All a load of BS and it has sparked a mass excuse to smash up and set fire to businesses, homes, cars and ruin real innocent peoples lives. So ashamed of this country, tonight something really terrible is going to happen I can feel it.
BREAKING NEWS: international friendly between England & The Netherlands cancelled following London riots http://www.goal.com/en/news/468/int...ws-international-friendly-between-england-the England's friendly against the Netherlands at Wembley on Wednesday is off and four other matches are postponed as authorities react to a third night of rioting in London http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/default.stm
It's not about the police shooting, it's just an excuse for people to either release social tensions in those areas, or simply do a bit of thieving under cover of the riots. It's a wonder more deaths haven't happened. So far.
This violence and looting has to be stopped. These thugs are not protesting anything they are merely taking the opportunity to loot. Having said that, the climate that has been generated in this country over the last 30 years and the disconnect between the people and the elite has created an environment in which this type of thing was always likely to happen. However whilst there is violence on the streets there is not the slightest hope of the issues being discussed - let alone addressed. When people have no respect for themselves, feel that they are not respected by society and live in a culture of self-interest then you have a fertile breading ground for violence. It has happend on the estates for too long with the gang culture and society has turned its back. I know its far wider than that but this is supposed to be a football forum so I won't go on.
All weekend London games are off i heard. They better not cancel the Liverpool game, otherwise there will be riots.
It'd help if this damn country could take a hold of situations by the balls instead of waiting for it to worsen. If people are committing criminal damage, assault etc.. then by law they can be arrested by any means necessary. Get the water cannons, rubber pellets and tear gas out. The police are meant to protect the people of this country, by standing back and doing nothing they're not protecting us, they're letting the rioters ruin businesses and homes. How long until someone's house is burnt down with the family still in it? Honestly if I was in charge of the police now, I'd have extra night police patrol cars and my officers standing by to be called in from home. Nip any forming riot before it has chance to gather steam, who cares if people think it's heavy handed, they're breaking the law.
I think the riots are happening mainly due to people being angry about having a ****ing friendly the same week as the start of the premiership.
We do not have to worry about players getting injured...playing international friendly. At thesame time we are not condoning violence.
The riots in Liverpool were started by Everton fans who are upset David Moyes wasn't given the £150k to sign Andy Lonerghan. Bill Kenshite said he couldn't afford it.
Too many of my sandal wearing, yoghurt knitting leftie colleagues have argued for years against this and left us with an emasculated police force.
I think the main excuse for the tear gas etc not being deployed is because most of these people are under 18! Just kids. I say tough ****, they know they're breaking the law so have to take the consequences. Think about their parents as well, know full well London is in a right state with thousands rioting.....Would you not say "hang on a minute, where's little Johnny? Get the **** in doors now". SCUM the lot of 'em.
Exactly, if they've got the capabilities to go to a riot, then they're old enough to face the consequences. They know what they're doing, and it's people with their intelligence that we don't need in society anyway, it's the same people that are more than likely going to be locked up later in life anyway, so they might as well get used to it now.
Would that be the police who said phone tapping wasn't endemic and took money to keep shtum and said Jean Charles Menezes had a bomb when they shot him? That police? We have a parliament filled with benefit scroungers who got away with it by apologising and paying the money back (try doing that down the dole office) then they slag off benefit scroungers as soon as they need to divert the attention of the docile me me me electorate with a handy Daily Mail headline. We have a corrupt media and a corrupt police force. We have a corrupt game of football, with everybody from Sepp Blatter to Bryan Robson on the take. And you're ashamed of this country for a riot? So emasculated they can cover up official inquiries. If you want emasculated you only have to look at Nick "**** my principles, let's screw the country up" Clegg, the Wimp General. Whatever the spark that lit the fire, people feel like they have no power. And it's a very short fuse between these rioters and you being out there.
I'm not a fan of Nick Clegg, but I do support the Liberal Democrats (best of a bunch of ****, none of the parties are worthy to run the country). I feel he's been scapegoated for some decisions he had no control over. Then again he was wrong to go into coalition, just so he could force a vote on new voting rights only for that to go tits up. It's the conservatives ruining this country though, not the Lib Dems. If only the Lib Dems could get a good leader, perhaps we might actually find stability in this country.
Spot on MFG. I don't think they realise just how short a fuse it is. Rising fuel bills Rising food bills Thieving politicians Endemic corruption throughout the public sector Banking crisis Utility companies enjoying vast profits The PC Brigade Absurd H&S legislation The list is endless.
