I know everyone is annoyed at Arsene Wenger going out and buying yet another young player who isn't likely to feature for at least this season for the first team, but I think we should all calm down and move on. Whining isn't going to help us and we need to accept the player we have signed, welcome him into our club like we would with any other player, and look at other targets to bring in. Yes we need at least one more central defender and possibly a left back but I'm sure Arsene Wenger has some plans for the above. (I think Kieron Gibbs isn't likely to benefit if we decide to spend money on a first choice left back, if not now when will he benefit?) Keep faith, as hard as it may be, and don't let our rivals make us out like a laughing stock because we aren't accepting our new signing/club's transfer policy. So, appeal to all true Arsenal fans to just ignore the speculation surrouding our player's futures and just focus on what we have and stay behind our team! The more we argue and create a negative feel around the club the more the media and our rivals love it. I understand it may be frustrating and difficult but we've been through tougher times! Let's see where the true Arsenal fans are.
dein said that wenger was looking to sign "2-3 more players". chamberlain is one, i expect a CB to follow and possibly another player, although i won't get my hopes up. but i do fuilly expect a CB to be signed.
We shouldn't be annoyed that Wenger is actually spending money. Besides, we need more depth in our squad.
You Arsenal fans can't complain about not spending money,you have money to spend and have spent it.....but unwisely in some parts. Granted Gervinho is going to be a improvement on the dreadful Bendtner. But why on earth is Wenger signing another teenager when he needs 3 nasty experienced players. Three 6 footers that are built like tanks. Arsenal always had these sort of players when they successful, Petit Viera,Overmars,Henry,Pires,Ljungberg,Adams,Winterburn,Keown,Wiltord. None of these were shrinking voilets,some were nasty...they others were as nasty as they were talented. Arsenal could drop out of the top four because they still haven't grown a pair. I was 100% sure that if Arsenal signed 3 just 3 nasty bastards,they would run away with the league. They haven't, I don't think they will finish top four.
OP - are you more of an Arsenal fan than me ? Don't chat rubbish. I'm born and raised in Holloway and went to school locally too, you can't chat to me about having Arsenal blood ! I am one of the few TRUE Arsenal fans .. the ones that place emphasis on the North London derby because, for those from North London, it has meaning to us ! It doesn't mean following blindly and accepting the foolishness that Wenger is doing. Wenger is not Arsenal, Arsenal is Arsenal. He has done a lot of good but he is quickly undoing it with his transfers and transfer policy. As a born and raised Holloway boy I am NOT happy with what is going on at the club at all.
I think that Wenger just chooses to prioritise bargains over players that are needed. I'm not saying that we should spend over our means but if we have money why don't we use it?!
I just hope that come this Saturday, we are covered on all fronts or else we'll all be asking 'why'.......
