I respect Suarez more because he said when he joined that the dream was to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona. He put 110% in from January 2011 to the summer of 2014 then left for a fair fee.

As a playmaker I think Zidane was a lot ahead of him in terms of ability.

If the argument that Messi's achievements are discredited because he plays in a team full of stars then Pirlo should be looked at the same where the Milan side he played in had the likes of Maldini, Nesta, Cafu, Gattuso, Kaka, Seedorf, Shevchenko etc. in it. The fact is that it could be applied to anyone e.g. Ronaldo at Man Utd had Giggs, Scholes, Tevez, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic etc.

Yes they were. Who was better than them in 2005? Not many midfielders. Ronaldinho? Kaka possibly? Not many more out there as consistently influential as them at that time.

add B Charlton to that. He is less regarded in this country than he should be as he doesn't come over too well on telly . i only saw the end of his career but he was still player but i also saw quite a bit of older stuff and god he could play. His goalscoring record considering he was a midfielder (on occasions DM) is right up there.
    Worlds best - No
but on a list that contains G Best -Yes

but the highlighted bit of Organics post is most relevant. just watch & gasp at what beauty a footballer can produce and enjoy the ones who do it in your time.

No way was Alonso better than Gerrard, that's revisionism at its finest. Next we'll be saying Hamann/Mascherano/Sissoko were better because they did Alonso's running and dirty work.

Listen Forum Moderator, don't bleddy laugh at the thought of the Green Army. We're coming to town and you better watch out. Could be a couple of song lyrics there if I'm quick.

If any of you watched the game on BT tonight then I feel confident you are now shaking in boots as we speak. We look forward to playing your reserves. Order in the pasties and we'll be along drekly.

The only players I recognise from your squad are luke McCormack (who got jailed for killing those kids while dangerous driving) and David goodwillie who I think had that spell at Wigan when they were half decent?

Can't say I've followed Plymouth recently, hope it's a good game though and although well put out weaker side get good odds on anything but a comfortable home win would imagine.

Good pay pay day for you guys during Jan window though. Look like flying at top of L2 so money should help strengthen to push for promotion.

You reckon you'd play weaker team to concentrate on the league?
