There never was a Lord called Samhain - that's a bit of a myth.

A couple of clues: They played yesterday and scored the opening goal 4 minutes after the singing had finished.
The fans often change languages when singing, and have been known to use up to 3 languages.

FC Vaduz? They are in Liechtenstein but play in the Swiss League.

Sorry no, not FC Vaduz. Much bigger, they had 52,000 in the stadium.

That's the one Yorkie. Every second half the the team comes out to the singing of 'Three little birds' by Bob Marley - a song which the fans adopted as the Ajax song 14 years ago. They also sing in 3 languages - Dutch, English and occasionally Hebrew (the latter of which they probably learned from their Maccabi Tel Aviv friends). One of the loudest fan groups I've ever heard. Over to you.

I stood with the Ajax fans when they beat Panathinaikos to win the European Cup at Wembley. They were great fun. We got a bit the worse for wear on Dutch brandy! Johan Cruyff was in the Dutch side and I think the first goal was scored by one Dick van Dijk!

Sad to think that with the present set up nobody outside the big 4 leagues has a chance in the Champions League any more. In those days the Dutch League was rated as the 4th strongest in the World - it's now ranked 24. In those days teams outside the big 4 leagues like Ajax, Feyenoord, Benfica, Celtic, Anderlecht, Red Star Belgrade, Bruges etc. could all dream of European finals - no longer the case I'm afraid. Ajax used to be able to hold onto their young players until 26 or 27, in todays climate they leave at 19. It shows how the balance has changed that a Watford player could be loaned out to Feyenoord.

    Thanks Cologne

Where recently have cities been blown up for entertainment and in the last explosion two rebel activists killed?
