SAFC fan in peace here Just wanting to know whether you think that this Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is worth such a large amount of money, yes he is young, has a bit pace about him and probably can pass rather well, but in my opinion Arsenal could spend that £12 million on a player that they currently could use as everyone knows you's currently want success Your views ?
1.NO 2.He's pretty sh....it, and not what is needed at Arsenal atm, unless they are really special at that age, and are gonna be world class, i.e. Ronaldo back in the day, and others of world class talent, this alex kid is not that. So all in all utterly dumb and meaningless signing, waste of money.
have you ever watched chamberlain how the **** would you know he's ****. having seen him play every week i can tell you that he is a very promising player, a bit of a risk paying that amount of money, but he is bound to be a future star. he looks better then walcott was at the same age and should develop into a very good player
I saw him a few times last season, he looks promising, but we should have waited a year or two for him to become more experienced. I think he's only played about 50 odd games as a pro.
Looting continues in North London as southampton take Aresnal for £12 million. He's an okay player but we have 4 maybe 5 players more important to us, he's no Theo walcott or Gareth bale, thanks for the cash, we can now buy 3 good players and visit you next season.
I have spoke to many Saint fans today and all of them say he is better then Theo at the same age and on the same level as Bale.
Mate he is not in the same league, he will be an average premiership player, Pennant type, we have robbed you. Like I said we have 4 maybe 5 players better han him, how about you lot buy Adam lallana for £50 million as thats what he's worth if Oxo is worth £12 million.
Yeah I can see that Arsenal fans want some good players for the present...so Wenger has bought Chamberlain that is going to bring nothing to Arsenal this season so he has really just bought 1 player for this season(Gervinho) the rest Carl and Alex are for the Future.BTW Chambo will be a great footballer in the future.thanks for the money we didnt need to sell him but he wanted to go so we let him go,great bit of business by our great chairman,"Don" Nicola Cortese, £12M + £3M and 40% add on clause!!
Two Saints fans on this thread alone say he is going to be a top footballer. You are the first one on not 606 that thinks he is not very good. He made 40 appearances for you lot despite being only 17 years old.
But they are in league 1! I can't believe Wenger has made this type of signing again, we don't need another teenager with promise we need somebody proven! How can he never learn from his mistakes?
he is excellent. much better than theo at the same age. it is funny though that you bought him for £12mill when 99.9% of saints fans consider him not to be even our best player, that is of course adam lallana.
Are we sure it's £12m? I thought it was an undisclosed sum or perhaps I've not been following closely. Whatever is the case, it gives the impression that the club is addressing the future instead of current deficiencies in the team. I suppose if he is that good perhaps we should go for him before someone else does. The week is not through yet but like everyone I wish we could have made the signings we needed before now. Injuries are bound to occur and we should avoid being caught short again. Someone is taking too many risks with the club.....
He's massivey promising, at 17 he is looking like he will be TOP TOP Class. However he's exactly what we dont need at the moment. We have more attacking midfielders than you could shake a stick at. -----------------Eboue--------------------- Vela------Chamberlain-----Rosicky---Miyaiachi Walcott----Fabregas----Nasri------Ramsey ------------------Arshavin -----------------------Wilshere
Also I dont think he actually lasted 90mins in league one as of yet. Most of those appearances were 20min sub appearances, or an hour as a starter (until he was either kicked or came off with cramp).
