Nobody else stands out do they?
Coleman ran us ragged for a bit in the first half - and did his defensive work pretty well. Wasn't it he who blocked Firmino's shot near the end?

Defintely 2, although good defending by Coleman for the block on the line.
Just wasn't in the game link up wise though I felt, and offered no protection to Milner.

Been same last couple of games, might just be a dip in form, but has coincided with him being moved wide when Cout's out.

Winks certainly looks a talent. A young jack whilshire if you will.

Yup. A real good showing. I'd be hesitant to put a Liverpool player forward outside the cbs.

@Tobes will be able to comment better, but to me, given what I have seen of he lad lately, he's regressed over the last 18 months, early Ross with the right guidance could have been a top player by now, who knows, still could be, he's far to young to be written off!

Winks look a nice tidy player and he's not going to get in ahead of Alli or Erikson, Son puts in a shift for you guys too!

I'd agree the move out has messed him up. He only came into it when they gave up space.

Agreed, both need to be played through the centre.. but Firmino plays better up top!
Hopefully we do bag a decent winger in Jan.. that would be ideal.. but I doubt anyone new player coming in is going to have the effect Mane is..
So, best bet would bet to get Origi or Sturridge to be that wide threat Mane is for us right now!

Lallana played well but yeah Klavan was my stand out player.

Everton offered nothing because he he snuffed everything out early doors. Great, solid display and backs my earlier post up about adequate replacements in most areas

I do agree he's not as good out wide, and that he's better when he links up with Coutinho - they have a good understanding.
I was just pointing out that he had 3 decent chances even though he was relatively quiet.
Just saying that he could have scored, not should have.

They both did well enough keeping Lucky quiet.
Lovren's positioning when we had the ball was weird, I thought. Even in the first half when we were on the back foot he was carrying the ball into their half a long way and really wide on the right - leaving Hendo to drop back and fill in. We never got caught out, but it seemed odd to me.

Barkley reminds me of Rooney. Burst onto the scene young and looks fearless talent. Rooney last 2-3 years has regressed and lost that spark that made him brilliant, Barkley seems to have done the same. Rather than playing with freedom, trying to be more rigid and losing what made him great.

Might just be a confidence thing as obviously still young, maybe the pressure got to him a bit, or he got too big for his boots with the City talk of a £50m bid but needs to get back to that fearless player that picked the ball up in CM and drove forward beating players wiith ease.

Him and Lovren were near enough faultless. Even Lovren getting booked was a good one, Lukaku turned him and had the pace so Lovren took him out early on the half way line to make sure wasn't then chasing shadows. Very intelligent foul.

    Don't disagree (although can't remember the 3rd?).

Just don't know how going to get best out of front 3 when Mane goes and only have Cout that can naturally play out wide.

Yep I applauded that foul, we don't do that often enough and it can cost you!

One where he was through on the keeper from Milner's ball over the top. Second, the volley saved by Robbersdog. Third the one blocked by Coleman.

Yup. Johnson v Palace 3 years ago is one that springs to mind... could take out Puncheon or Bolaisie on the half way line and take the yellow... just let him run and they end up scoring and then we all know what happens.

Defenders need to realise when a yellow and a foul is the good option. You're going to get beaten by a bit of skill or pace now and then, no shame in it, but the old saying, either ball or man go past, but not both, is still a good moto to live by,

Ah yeah, forgot about the volley form corner <ok>
Think 90% of keepers save that one to be fair though, wasn't in the corner.

I was a big, big fan a few years ago. Comparisons with Gazza, and all that. He got injured before the 2014 WC, and I don't think, apart from the odd flash, he's been the same player. Nothing wrong with having what he did tonight in his game (be honest, Gerrard had at least one of those a season in him), but he's really gone downhill, imo.
