I think I just grew up watching men play contact sports and came to realise not all bad tackles are malicious.

Doesn't need to have malice behind it, but he's late, high and studs showing. Cowards tackle as he's never going to get hurt and Hendo can't do anything to get out the way.

Worse than the Rojo ones where Zaha could see him coming and get out the way, or a big 50/50 where both players go in full blooded. Hendo just had to hope and pray it didn't do proper damage

Was worse than I originally thought but still think it was just piss poor timing and the passion/will to try and win the ball.
Things like that happen in big games all the time, if you asked me about Rojo and his two feet I would happily say red every time.

You may well have grown up watching oiled-up gladiator porn films, but this is football. It was high, late, uncontrolled and could easily have caused injury. Even Alan Smith didn't say it was a good tackle (which is about as good as it gets when he reviews decisions involving us).

 

See, you say that as though he was aiming for Henderson, do you not think he was trying to get the ball at all?

 

Barkley's tackle was far worse than Rojo. I'd rather have someone slide in 2 footed from front in and get the ball of give me a chance of jumping over it, than a player slide in from the side and catch me above the ankle with my leg planted.

 

Means **** all. I don't think it was Malicious and he was trying to hurt Hendo, far from it. AS Hendo said, it was a derby, big game, fired up players and crowd. Doesn't mean dangerous tackles aren't a red.
