Like I say, I'm not disputing the decision, as such. By the letter of the law Paulson was correct.

It's that seemingly perennial problem, lack of consistency, that's the problem. If going in with both feet off the ground is indisputably a red card offense, then why doesn't Rojo have to walk and Vardy does?

Well done to Leicester for winning BBC team of the year. A bit of a gay event really the whole Sports Personality thing(BBC are United's bum chums and I've witnessed some odd decisions in the past), but team of the year is a no brainer even for the BBC, well done Leicester.

Yep agreed. All I'll say is it's for the same reason not every shirt pull in the box will get a card, not every foul inside the box (that would be given outside the box) will result in a penalty.

Maybe it's my general view of referees that is influencing me. I very rarely, if ever, blame the ref for our results or decisions that go against us. I ALWAYS tend to hold the team/manager to account. I'm just doing the same here. I can't stand bleating on about referee decisions after the game, it ****ing annoys me tbh <laugh>

Trebs Pawson is not up to it ...period !
How can he then go on to book the wrong players , one from each side ?
I can't speak for the Stoke player but how can you mistake Rob Huth for Andy King ?He should be well aware of the fact that Huthie is one of the cleanest players in the premier league , everyone knows that.....don't just take my word for it,ask Fellani ! <laugh>

We all know that refereeing is a thankless job. In fact why some of them do it is a mystery - maybe it's a form of masochism? We also have to accept that as video technology is not currently used, mistakes are inevitable.

In my view, the only real help coaches can give is to remind players of what type of offenses a particular ref is hot on.

As for shirt pulling, niggly fouls, etc. they're a lot more subjective, in my view. So I don't really see the comparison. A two footed flying lunge is a tad more difficult to miss.

Tbf mate, they had no choice but to give it to Leicester, shame you have to accept it sitting just off the relegation zone. Well played.

So you would also conclude that Liverpool have failed yet again to have any chance of winning the Premier league, being nine points adrift and chasing the shadows of a resurgent Chelsea ........ Why is it that after such a disappointing season by the blues, you creaming your pants and hailing Klipperty Klopp as the next messiah , that they have yet again blown your outfit away ? Unbelievable !
Must be a blue thing ....enough to turn you to wacky backy <laugh>

No shame at all ... other teams have raised their game, particularly when playing us, if you take in their managers comments post-game - we are not yet up to the levels of last season that is without doubt ..but Man City beating Arsenal after being pummeled by us shows the unpredictability of this league for most teams ...

... and partly why I think Chelsea will win it ... they lost to Arsenal by 3 goals before getting their act together and now acheiving remarkable consistency ... last season's Champions did exactly the same, funnily enough <ok>

Keith Hackett on talkSport this morning - to paraphrase - Pawson should not have been given another premier league game straight after his debacle of Palace v United, the Jamie Vardy incident was not a red card, Pwson should not now be allowed to ref Citeh v Pool .... plus, and I'm not wumming (this once <whistle> ) the Sissoko challenge was "a coward's challenge" and deserving of a straight red - he contrasted it to Vardy's in that Vardy's studs were never raised dangerously ... he also said that video technology had to be introduced as soon as possible as refs now needed that help, for several reasons ...

  10. ...in your opinion, Bambi.

One man's "cowardly" challenge is another man's supremely skilful conning of the ref. I cannot see what your problem is with this, mate.

On the last point, it's a judgement the ref makes in real time. And for that reason imo it's just the same. Look at how people are pulling apart (having watched it again) at what millisecond his feet were off the ground and at what millisecond before impact they were on the ground. The ref and officials dont have that luxury and make the best decision they can based on what they see in real time.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

... you really do need to read things before commenting buddy ... makes you look like a complete twat when you don't (which is quite often) ...

...not MY opinion at all ... I haven't given one...

I appreciate that you have difficulty with literary concepts, as you've shown numerous times, so I'll help you once again... these " " are quotation marks - indicating that the words within them were spoken by a particular person, in this case, Keith Hackett <doh> ...

... as to whether they are valid? - suspect he knows more about football than you ... but then again, we all do <laugh>

I'll be ecstatic for you should you go on to fulfill your 6th placed aspirations ... (Spurs 'success') <whistle>

If you equate biting your head of with educating you then it's hardly surprising that you have emerged from the formal education system as such a poor wordsmith .. your teachers were merely correcting your errors son... get yourself a backbone lad <laugh>

What success is that? Did I miss something? Didn't Leicester win the premiership, or was it Spurs? Remind us how that went and about you're successful sortie in the champions league. I do so love a success story!
