As I said, I'm just glad that we have a manager and a team that doesn't give up because we've only "come from behind to win the match a grand total of one time". You'll note that NOWHERE did I say "I told you so" or anything even remotely like it. I wasn't on the thread and I've almost given up posting anything at all so at no time did I make any comment on this game. In the interest of balance, I find the general "We're one behind so let's give up" attitude quite pitiful. Vin
Oh, wow. I thought about posting up a montage of the over the top hyperbole regarding Jay and the manager, but I thought that would only cause discord when we should all be celebrating together. On the other hand, if you find yourself reading a less than comfortable quotation of yours, best just keep your head down and not rise to it. He might score an own goal next game. It wouldn't change my view of the player- any more than it will change yours of course.
Well given the fact we're so bad at coming from behind to get something from the match, I think it's a normal reaction to be resigned at that moment when we concede. I'm also glad that the team doesn't give up and at that moment I haven't given up either so I think it unfair to single out those comment as proof of anything other than a momentaneous disappointment about conceding a goal.
I know that Shane scoring two goals is a little unlikely at present but you are way, way outside of the Bell curve on your fantasy.
I was generalising about the social media, this site has probably the least negative content of all of the Saints sites but isn't immune.
Funny that, same here. Live in Bmth, work from home. Not one peep from all those that come out of the woodwork normally when bompy do something vaguely good... Weird eh? I didn't lower myself except with a little face book post (excerpt below with names removed/covered) *****, ******, ******* I always find it immature and childish to gloat when one team beats another. GET IN THERE!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA SOUTH COAST IS OURS Signed, No7 aged 5
It's time for my Once-A-Quarter-Post... I've been here. Just lurking. Woke up this morning with a spring in my step. So great to see us playing fluid football from an end result. Someone said in a post not too far back, we're just a decent in form striker away from banging in 2 - 3 goals a game. Completely agree... I've been saying to my old man that we've got a Sunderland-esque game coming up... I dont think that feels too far off now. First up, absolutely delighted for Jay. Not ashamed to say I had a tear in my eye when he scored. It wasn't Lambert-England pride, but also not too far off. The lad's had a nightmare over the last 2.5 years and he deserves some luck and patience. Hopefully this is that corner he needed to turn. Also loved the fact that he's such a softie. His VERY simple/basic final comment to Sky did make me laugh though. "I just like Football". Secondly, I've been watching comments about Puel being not passionate and have been batting the same comments from my dad and surrounding season ticket holders. My housemate is French and avidly supports PSG although is a huge football fan in general. He's always maintained that Puel was the most passionate manager in Ligue 1. Apparently he goes absolutely f**king apoplectic when things go south. I cant imagine what he's like in the dressing room. Anyway. This may be me for 2016. Happy Christmas and New Year all. I'll be lurking.
Good post, but your are slacking. once a quarter is 4 posts a year. You've posted 14 times since 2011. Pull your finger out man, you should be on 20 posts!
Take 2 children, devize a competition with a chocolate bar as a prize for the winner When there's a winner, present them with the prize Ask the loser how positive they're feeling Take the chocolate from the winner, eat it and ask them how positive they're feeling
Depends...what chocolate bar are we talking about here? If it's a Nestle Crunch then blood would be shed.
Watching Saints play in that strip took me back to the 60's when I used to play Subbuteo with a friend. He had all the gear including some international sides. Red shorts and white shirts were Switzerland. Always like that combination. A world away from FM 2017.
