Willing buyers with the means to do so and who meet the fit and proper tests are more of a problem, however.
You really are full of your own self importance. For a start you know nothing about me so don't pretend you do. If you cannot accept fans expressing a different opinion to your own on a fans forum without you accusing them of stooping then I'd suggest you find something else to occupy your time.
I support Clarkies stance on boycotts, and after full consideration ( a millisecond) will not be boycotting a possible replay away to Swansea. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Tubby, the report function is to report offensive posts, you can't use it to send messages to people, you're actually sending those messages to every moderator and supermoderator on this site. If you want to message people directly, then click on 'start a message' under their avatar.
Excellent summation from AN TWTWT - So, we endorse the call for a boycott, and will not be attending. However, this must – MUST – become something that unites rather than divides, even if you choose to attend. And that is absolutely your right, incidentally. Anyone criticising a fellow City fan who wishes to go is unwise to do so. You may be on a run of games, or flying home as a special occasion, or just enjoy your Saturday afternoon at the football too much to give it up. Fair enough. But while we’ve never boycotted a City home game before, we HAVE given an away game a miss: Huddersfield, and Bubblegate, in Spring 2013. City fans left the away end deserted, and West Yorkshire Police have never since attempting a similar criminalisation of football fans. This boycott is merely a means to an end rather than the end itself, but by leaving the ground empty it’s the opportunity to make a clear point: that if the Allam family does not sell this club to someone who will run it properly, this is what our future could look like.
Have we got the on-line donation page up yet? I'm boycotting all City games but am happy to donate to this
Is "Premier League Whores" the appropriate language here PLT? I think not, personally. They are fans just the same, just different kinds of fans.
Ref the AN piece. The suggestions of parallels between the Huddersfield boycott and this Swansea boycott are a little simplistic. The Huddersfield boycott was the result of a direct attack on fans' ability to attend a match, that's not the case now. And I would contend it was the coordinated written complaints to WYP and the Police Commissioner that led to Ged McManus' wings being clipped, not the boycott itself.
I'd be happy to boycott, but seeing as I've been boycotting this last two seasons it won't make much difference. I'll be 'not there' in spirit though
Do people not realise that it's impossible to boycott successfully against one of the 'big' clubs? It won't work. Theres too many away fans getting in the home end, and too many day trippers and glory boys attending to make it work. Nevermind the actual city fans who aren't bothered. The only boycott that has a chance of succeeding is picking a game that is not very attractive to those types. Sad but true.
There really wasn't, but as Dennis says, there might be now. They were bound to run out eventually. Hopefully not but it's all very quiet. I'm not interested in arguing with you. Just found it strange you making grand claims about your protesting efforts on one thread and criticising others, while on previous threads you support the Allams because they've got a lot of money and we're in the Premier League. It will be as soon as the charity it sorted. We wanted to do a couple, but one of them hasn't got back to me so it might just be the one for the sake of speed. The other one is setting up a donation page and as soon as that's done we'll be sharing it.
In my day I just stood in phonebox dialling random numbers till I got one of you. Then hoped and prayed me pips didn't run out. Also had to send postcards with 'like' written on them to everyone with a HU postcode, madness, but it worked by God. This board was all fields back then.
and COTM was decided in Linnet's, out back. The two with the most votes had do fight each other. To the death. Or so says the legend.
The Allam British squash open is been held in hull in march this is one thing he will attend and is very proud off. Its shown on tv all over the world. It would be the perfect time for some kind of demonstration against his ownership. David Lloyd cared more about Tennis then us and the good Dr is the same about squash. I seem to remember a small protest at the Davis cup in Nottingham when Lloyd was the coach of the GB team. We could always bring back the tennis ball protest with squash balls
