You may have heard of an old proverb 'If a tree falls in the wood and nobody is around to hear it, does it make a sound ?' Your post is the tree, you may have posted it somewhere that nobody reads (I.e the woods) and thus it hasn't made a sound. Therefore claiming a wum **** up where nobody has witnessed one is, I'm afraid, a massive wum **** up.
For most people they would have got it first time. But I had to explain it to you, because clearly you hadn't understood why you'd made a wum **** up.

the debate is a literal one, not a metaphorical one. It certainly isn't a maxim. How long have you trawled for a definition to give you enough to go into battle with.
