Brilliant result!! 3 goals and a win away from home, lovely way to go into our mini break. So chuffed for Jrod too A good week and 7 points heading into 3 very tough games in 6 days.
I rate Davis and have done for some time. I think his performance today shows just how important it is to have a CM that actually contributes and builds attacks. We looked fantastic with him on the pitch. Shame he doesn't play that way all the time (not that he plays badly, just doesn't tend to be as effective in starting attacks). Also helps to have a striker who puts the ball in the net!
The nicest thing to see today was how much Jays confidence grew after that first goal. All of a sudden he was chasing more, going for shots when he could have easily squared it and then the icing on the cake, he scored a beauty.
Looking ahead, I'd like for us to make only two changes for Spurs (pending any injuries) and that would be Fonte back in for Yoshida (even though he was excellent today) and Romeu in for Hodj. Other than that, let's try and build on this momentum.
Very pleased with today I thought Clasie had a very good game and Claude sent them out to attack more. And just soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pleaded for Jay. We are 7th, with hopefully a top striker back in form, (still very pissed with CP over Europe), but optimistic again. 7th up for grabs and a cup final- stay positive
Not sure Fonte will be first pick again, he's 33 and wants a contract past 2018, pissed off he didn't play in Europe. I don't think we'd buy a 33 year old CB but buying an old forward has done Man U the world of good! So we only need a new CF and CB in January!
No you were not. It was a lovely moment, and surprise surprise with a bir of confidence he smacks a second from 20 yards Only 7 well done for keeping the faith
Indeed. Although, it is also worth noting that he has only scored two goals during one good game. This doesn't actually mean he is back to his best or that he will ever be. Take it game by game and be as patient as possible, but we must not get ahead of ourselves.
You are right, but this will be a huge boost for him, he will believe again and that second goal was from a player suddenly filled with confidence
He has been lacking confidence & missing chances. So people should not take it as 'I told you so' from anyone on here. But the amount of running, tracking & working today was marvelous. He deserved all the praise he got. See the B'mouth player congratulating before full time, bet he said he almost clapped the second! Jay knows there's work to be done, but this is a step.
