I'd like to take this moment to apologise, on behalf of many on this board, to Jay Rodriguez. That is all.
Are there parallels with last season? Lots of supporters on here were dreaming of a trip to the wonderfully, fabulously very expensive Wembley via one of the Cup competitions. Once Palace dumped Southampton out, Saints PL form dramatically improved. This season lots were dreaming of a European tour lasting nine months. The monkey of the EL is off the back, and lo and behold, some form in the PL.
Fantastic win, so very happy for J-rod to get back into the goals. Very enjoyable second half. Steven Davis was excellent, as were Bertrand and Yoshi. Good stuff.
A look at the PL table proves that Southampton are the best of the rest outside the top 6!! Everton by the looks of things have joined the ranks. Is that what RK was looking for?
Anyone else more relaxed about Jose not staying? Still think he is part of Saint folklore but if he goes, he goes. Maya is definitely on a par with him. Could it be playing regularly?
I have to say, had we lost today, there was still comments at the start of this thread that don't sit well. People seem to be looking for a reason to blame CP, before even allowing him any trust. I'm still not overly happy with our cautious play, and backwards at any opportunity passing, but the bigger picture suggests there is a plan, and we may well need to get on board a bit more. After that win its still not perfect, but he has surely bought the benefit of doubt.
Annoyingly no MOTD tonight as they've pushed it back until tomorrow to accommodate the Merseyside derby. Looking forward to the day our matches get special treatment like that.
