The invisible man. Hardly on the ball, and when he's on it doesn't seem to know what to do with it. Very early in to his qpr career though, hope there's a player in there somehwere when given time.
BBC match stats to date - we have 60% possession, but only one shot on goal, Villa have 6, 2 on target, says it all:- Home Team QPR Away Team Aston Villa Possession Home 60% Away 40% Shots Home 1 Away 6 Shots on Target Home 0 Away 2 Corners Home 2 Away 3 Fouls Home 7 Away 3
This formation relies on Chery having a 9/10 performance. He's in poor form but there's far too much expected of him. Neither of the wingers have done anything at all apart from give fouls away.
Commentators - "Villa were in QPR's current 19th position when Roberto Di Matteo was moved on after just one win in 11 matches. QPR don't look like a team that are about to burst up the table" I wonder if we will take the same approach with Holloway?
Good half, but we need a striker. I would take off Chery and put Cilla on. Where do they get these refs from?
With this setup our pressing game isn't very effective. The players press on their own making it easy for Villa to play themselves out from the back. To much distance between midfield and defence letting them get the run on our defence. Would like to see Borysiuk come on for Ngbakoto, playing a central midfield three of him, Loungo and Hall. Play a plain 4-3-3 with a more compact central midfield and hopefully that could be a foundation to go on and win the game.
I thought it was OK. Nice to see us trying to thread balls through from 20 yards out - we've barely tried to do that at all in the last couple of seasons. Wzolek looks good going forward although clumsy for the penalty (but their striker did have his shirt too before dropping like a breeze block). Yeni needs to get involved or go off and Ollie needs to rally them because I think Villa can and will do better.
Sylla on...just back from a hamstring injury, an injury that can easily be repeated...hope he is completely ready to go and not being rushed back in.
