As a portsmouth boy, it must be painful to see this boy go for 12 mill +/-. Have you progressed with an acadamy as you have no youth team that I can find. Not being snotty-just interested as a saints fan
Hi there banana The Portsmouth academy is no where near the quality of the Southampton academy, and with Mark Chamberlain knowing our club, there is no way he would've let his son be apart of our set up. Had AOC been at our academy, he probably wouldn't be the player he is today, and the fact Southampton were in league one last season helped him make the breakthrough sooner. As regards to the 12 million, surely that could be said about any player? He's never been apart of Portsmouth as far as I'm aware of. If anything I'm pleased Southampton have let go a player who would have had an impact on the Championship. (To me though, he'll always be the kid who cried at being subbed off at an under 12's tournament - We're around the same age and saw Mark Chamberlain leading off a crying boy. Who else could it have been?)
He's hardly our key player. Missed the last 9 or so games of last season, and we won 8 of them. Creamed Leeds without him too.
