Only one City player was a ****er today and that was the once again absolutely useless Elmohamady awful performance.
Like I said in another thread. We need someone to work with the current players on composure in front of goal. We had enough chances to win 3 to 4 games in that one match.
he had hold of his shorts, I didn't think it was a penalty until I'd seen the replay for the third time, and as I said in the original post, I thought we were lucky the ref saw it. If you're grabbing hold peoples strips in your own penalty box you're asking for trouble.
Hull manager Mike Phelan: "It's difficult when your team is doing ever so well, you feel for them because you want them to score the goals and get the credit. If we can play like that, we just need a stroke of genius or luck to get us goals. "We gave the opportunity for the referee to make a decision - and he took it. The post is there to stand in the way of a goal and it did that a few times today. "You have to have a wry smile on your face or you'd be very, very depressed
I'd really like Rowett as manager. I wanted him in when Bruce left - to get him on a free would be unbelievable.
Even if we got above Swansea and Sunlan, we're 5 behind Burnley, 6 behind Boro and 7 behind West ham (add a point for inferior goal difference). Lester or Palace wont stay down there. If Allams were ever gonna spend any money in Jan, that's now gone. See them preparing for Championship from now. And add another £30 mill
It was given therefore, like the one we got last week, it was a penalty. Plenty of our supporters would have defended that decision if a similar incident had occurred at the other end of the pitch. Will always be the case until technology is introduced, unfortunately.
More from Hull City manager Mike Phelan: "We didn't score a goal, we should have had two or three goals. That's the same story over the last few games, we are playing terrific football but we can't find the finish at the end of it. We kept going, credit to the players." On the penalty decision that went against his team: “I am not going to go down that road finding fault with the referee’s decision. I think West Ham have got away with one. “These results only happen to certain clubs at certain times. We had enough opportunities to win a few matches but we have to keep fighting. We need that extra bit of quality that gives us points. “We had West Ham on the back foot, even the West Ham supporters will look at it from that point of view. “We are just not getting the rub of the green. We are strong in certain departments and weak in others. "We are going into the transfer window now. It is always an iffy time to do deals because we are at the bottom. If anyone feels courageous and wants a challenge I am hoping this club can give it to them. and then he rememebers who the owners are and wonders how many players we will lose
One point? No points? Meh. Penalty cost us, fair enough but we threw three points away today. If we don't score we obviously won't win. We should have been over the hill and far away by the time the penalty was wrongly awarded. So forget the unlucky. Forget the best performance of the season. Forget the feeling sorry for the lads. It's all bollocks. We deserved to lose because we didn't score and they did. It's not luck. It's not what goes around comes around. It's poor finishing. Simple as. Too many piss poor executions in front of goal. Too many wrong decisions in the final third. Some great individual performances in that game but it's our own fault we leave with nowt.
Proud of City - played them off the park. Such fine margins. Again, if we go down like that, we can hold our heads high.
On the coach home feeling pretty deflated. No idea how we didn't win that game, never mind lost it. However, Phelan killed all momentum we had with that double substitution. Were they both injured? Made little sense as we were comfortably on top. I agree with Bowen coming on but not for Huddlestone. One of the centre halves should have made way for those last ten minutes. Marshall needs to keep his goal kicks on the field. They nearly always go out. Otherwise, good performance from him. The lads who started were all good. One of their best performances of the season. No idea how they didn't score.
my only reasoning for it was due to tiredness.. but mbokani was still running and didnt show it a strange substitution
Even with technology it's unlikely the video ref would have over ruled the refs decision. Technology in football will be a waste of time.
